  1. Gm finally acknowledged the issue after I strapped a gopro to the drivers shock, pointed at the axle where it meets the tranfer case.. You would not believe all the other sounds it picks up under there.
  2. So after many months, lawyers, and fighting with GM my nightmare is finally over. With just days remaining before court I received a buyback offer. I loved my Silverado for over 18 months, but GM’s inability to fix this issue was enough to make me move on.   4. Just a little update. Going on 7 months fighting GM. Completely fed up with this Silverado. Noise gets worse every 1000 miles. Just waiting for the darn truck to fall apart or a critical failure at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So GM finally made an offer. A horrible offer. Let’s give you an additional 24000 mile warranty. Yeah, NO. So I can have it back at the dealership every 50 miles! This madness needs to end.   7. Well finally got the truck back after it being in the shop again for 5 days. This is already after their last final repair attempt, with the new half shaft, fixed it for 350 miles before the jingle returned. This fix did not work for me. 40 miles after pickup, the noise is back and louder. Each time they take the axle out it gets worse. I am praying they will buy it back next week.   9. It’s sad I had to go out and buy a go pro to do the dealers job. I’m so sick and tired of the horrible customer service from GM. We are not customers just peasants that should enjoy the privilege of driving their garbage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Here is a good clip of the axle noise.. dealership tried to tell me it was possible wind noise with an occasional chirp. Skip to 3 minutes. While driving you do not really hear the grinding noise. Just the high pitched squeak. Guess the active noise cancellation works well.
  11. Do not expect the most recent fix to work. They replaced my stub shaft with the updated parts. Fix lasted about 800 miles. 33 days out of service in the first year, GM refuses to buy it back. Allowed them a final repair attempt. It failed. GM is trying for a second Final repair attempt. What part of the Final repair attempt do they not understand! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. My state does not honor the BBB Autoline. It is not an approved arbitrator. BBB is funded by GM and the other manufacturers. My state has processes set up to do direct state arbitration with the manufacturers. Your local consumer protection department is a wealth of information Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Depending where you live there are consumer protection laws with new vehicles. Search your state’ Lemon Law. Typically multiple attempts to repair the same issue will qualify the vehicle as a “lemon”. The laws will give you the right for flat out repurchase, replacement or settlement for you to live with the issue. In my state, if a vehicle is out of service for repair for over 30 days within 2 years or 24000 miles, it is a lemon. This is the fight I am taking to GM at this moment. They will fight you!   23. I am currently in the lemon buyback process and have been since June 6th. You have to stay on top of GM to get anything done. Do not give up the fight. They have tried demanding repair attempts and their final repair attempt. Not possible with no parts. I hate to say it but I will no longer going with the Silverado. This is my second lemon case in two years. Still staying with GM since I do not want to take a financial loss on an inferior product. Going to give the new 21 Suburban a shot.   24. Take a look at the Canada Office of Consumer Affairs site. There are no “Lemon Law” provisions in Canada but they have their own process. One such is the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan (CAMVAP). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
