  1. I live in Duluth, MN & we've got the worst weather on the planet, but I just got my truck in June, so I don't know for certain. The 3M 1080 vinyl I used is made for vehicle wraps so it should hold up fine; it has on our Challenger for the last 2 1/2 years, anyhow. I guess I'll find out in the spring how it holds up on the emblems.
  2. You can do the emblem blackout. Just take the vinyl, cut squares of it that cover the entire letter including the chrome. Lay it on evenly with no bubbles (simple on such a small thing). Take an xacto knife or similar and carefully slide it along the inside edge of the chrome outline. That will leave just enough vinyl after you've got the letter cut out to tuck into the gap between the letter & chrome outline. If it doesn't want to tuck cleanly, use a bit of heat from a heat gun or hairdryer. You could probably even just do it in the sun to make it conform. If it doesn't turn out, just do it again until you get it right. Vinyl is cheap.
  3. I like that. Well done.
  4. I used satin. It was just some I had left over from the stripe I did for our Challenger.
  5. I used the exact same strategy as TXAT4. I won't waste my time playing games at a dealership. I emailed the salesman I test drove my AT4 with a few weeks prior to let him know I was a serious buyer and prepared to buy today if we could come to an agreement. After some back & forth emails, they met my price and I went in with financing in hand and had my truck about an hour or so later. I saved $12k on a truck that the dealer had $0 marked off of. My husband wanted nothing to do with the process (which is probably a good thing; too many cooks in the kitchen ;) ) With all the information available online and the "alternative" ways to work with dealerships, I don't feel like anyone should subject themselves to sales pressure and the ol' 4-square torture we've had to endure in the past. Good luck, ugaDAWGS09, I hope you can get what you want for what you want to pay.
  6. Hm. Must be a problem. My dealer's body shop told me they had 2 new Sierras in for that exact same thing. They were replacing the lettering.
  7. The slider is nice, I use it a lot. Mine has every bell & whistle and I'm loving it, especially the HUD/technology package!
  8. @jamin87ss I got 12k off my 6.2 AT4. Not near you, unfortunately, but just some info for your research.
  9. Ha! I didn’t think of changing colors! Love it!
  10. So, today I blacked out the GMC emblems on the grille & tailgate on my '19 AT4. My truck is black and I like the sleek black look. This was a simple, subtle mod in that direction. I used 3M 1080 wrap vinyl & a little heat. They came out nice and if I decide I want them red again, for some reason, I can just remove the vinyl.
  11. I have yet to see another AT4 or even a Trail Boss in my area, but this area is always SO behind on everything. For now, I'll enjoy my "uniqueness".
  12. Thanks! It’s just so hard to know. I like this thread, I think it’s a great reference. It helps people know what can be done. I know a guy who paid full sticker on his Ford truck because he said “haggling is a fallacy”. I gave him a ride to the dealer and when we were sitting there the salesman said “ok, so the truck is $xxxxx” (sticker price) and my friend goes “ok. I’ll take it”. The salesman looked over at me like “ummm?” I just shook my head, shrugged my shoulders and told him I’m just his ride here, it’s his jam. My friend happily drove out of there with a full priced Ford (that turned out to be a complete lemon). I actually felt pretty bad for him.
  13. 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 w/6.2. Sticker $68,040 I paid $56,000. I think I did fairly well. My husband didn't want to get involved. lol!
