  1. Thanks man! This is actually a Trail Boss (I deleted all of the blacked out stuff). So I started with a 2” GM lift, and added 1.5” motofab leveling kit. Tires are 285/65r20 BFG KO2’s.
  2. I would for sure! I don’t know how much true change in power there is. Not too obvious anyway. But it cleans up the engine bay and delivers a pretty subtle but nice growl the higher your RPM’s. I love it.
  3. Came out awesome buddy. Looks great!!
  4. Changed to a 2” level up front from a 1.5” (purely for looks). Just made 15K miles. Took another trip to the hunting camp. Still love this thing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks medic! I didn’t have to do a thing. The BFG’s I think are a hair more narrow than most, but I have no rubbing issues at all. This is with a 1.5” level on the Trailboss (3.5” total front lift) on stock HC 20” rims (-28 offset). But I have read that these tires fit on a Trailboss with no level at all. You should be fine with 3” of lift. ?? I have since went to a 2” leveling kit up front (total of 4”), purely for aesthetics. I felt like the 1.5” was still just a HAIR of rake. I like a perfectly level look. That being said, 2” on top of the longer strut makes for a little stiffer ride. I aired down to 32psi in the BFG’s and it has made a BIG difference in ride quality. Good luck with your build. Post up some pics when you get it done!
  6. Thanks man! I have always loved these BFGs. I got the 285’s and honestly they do look a hair small. They are a tall tire, but just a tad skinny in my opinion. I did that on purpose though, because they offer a little less weight (drag) and better fuel economy than the 35x12.50’s in the same tire. Power loss is negligible. Ride is close to stock, but with the 10plys and the leveling kit it’s a bit stiffer. I’m running them at 35psi cold, which has helped some. Handling is nearly the same. A touch more body roll, but that’s bc the center of gravity is higher, and I kinda like that fee anyway. I have had BFGs on my last three trucks, and know how great a tire they are. But I LOVE the way the Nitto Ridge’s look. If they weren’t so heavy I prob would have bought the Ridge Grapplers in 35x12.50’s.
  7. So I have a question. I don’t understand. All of the 14-18 trucks, every 3.5”(ish) kit comes with diff drop spacers. To improve upon the angles of the axle. I understand there is a little better geometry on our trucks and even beefier front axles on (my) all the trail bosses. But I put a 2” leveling kit up from and replaced the upper A arms. Ball joint angles look good and honestly, the axles don’t looks terrible. But at 4”, I just feel uneasy about it. WHY has no one made a simple 4 spacer/4 bolts diff drop for our trucks? Anyone have any idea??
  8. Took her out around the pond to check some of my deer cameras, and couldn’t help but snap a pic. Beautiful day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. This is my Trailboss, with the black parts deleted, and a 1.5” level on 285/65r20 KO2’s. Love the ride. Feels like stock.
  11. I agree with Ryan. I have another Rotofab on a TB 5.3. I feel like there definitely is a growl when you get in the mid RPM range. I may have gotten a tiny bit of performance back after putting larger tires on. I have no complaints. One of the best parts about it in my opinion is getting rid of all the plastic junk under the hood. It really makes the engine bay look much better. The install was also pretty easy. 14. Actually used my bed for what it was meant for. oh! And I installed my Rotofab CAI too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ryan, apparently these wheels are sort of brittle. I went to my hunting camp a few days ago and there is one not-so-bad mud hole to get in. I went in and out of it two or three times, at very low, like 4 low crawl speeds (never punched it or spun my tires once). And when I washed my truck yesterday I noticed one very similar to this! What the heck!?!

  17. Took my T1 to the hunting camp today. FINALLY got to use my truck, in its element. 4wd and (surprisingly) the auto-lock rear diff really impressed me today. I love this truck more and more! PS: I feel like this should be a magazine ad or something. This truck looks SO dang good to me!
  18. Awesome. That’s exactly what I needed to know. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna order one of these soon. Thanks bud!
  19. Nice. How does it work? Does it plug into the OBD port? I was thinking about getting amp steps too. And do you have to update this thing or program it with your laptop or something? (From what I was reading??)
  20. FWIW, for some reason this size KO2 is about the same as a 275 in any other tire. Is damn near the same width as the stock duratracs. A good bit taller (1.5”) though. Just seems like the BFG’s run a hair skinnier than all other tires. Otherwise, I really love the ride quality of the TB lift. I put a 1.5” motofab level, and it could use a touch more in my opinion. So I just bought the 2” motofab and some RC 3.5” lifted upper control arms. Going to get them on whenever they get here. I’ll post more pics. ??
  21. Bump on this topic. Did anyone ever get one of these installed? Or I noticed since this topic started, rough country actually makes one now too. Anyone recalibrated the tire size yet?
  22. Little update on my “non-blacked out Trail Boss”. Grabbed an overstock bumper, a take off grille, and sold my trail boss 18’s for High Country 20’s. TB suspension with a 1.5” leveling kit. 285/65r20 BFG’s. I love this truck!
  23. Awesome. Thanks man! that was the last little concern I had. Just put my order in for one. Should be here Tuesday!
  24. Awesome. I’m really leaning toward getting this CAI. Thanks for the input. Last few questions. Notice any power gains/acceleration change? And is this a dry element, or oiled?
  25. Hey Ryan, how do you like it? I’ve heard people describe it as “throaty”, but is it any louder? I’d love a little more growl. But I don’t want a screaming loud exhaust. The stock dual set up is plenty loud for me. Also, may be a little early to tell. But have you noticed the mpg gains that they are claiming???
