  1. I bought the GM Tonneau...the one that they made for the carbon pro bed. It’s exactly what your looking for...trifold, solid...it’s very well made. You can open it from the back or the front. Nice locking mechanism. I actually had installed the extang solid fold on my carbon pro before GM had finished their cover. I used some metal zip ties to attach the solid fold to the eye hooks in the bed. It was fully functional.
  2. I would say it’s rigid enough to hold 50 pounds no problem.
  3. Yes that’s a gmc cover. I ordered it from my dealer and installed it myself. I’m sure they’d install it at the dealership if you wanted them too.
  4. No it doesn’t...it folds back upon itself twice. That third fold doesn’t move. So essentially if you need the entire bed for something large...you’d have to pull the cover off. I’ve been using an extang solid fold for the past ten years and it works the same way so I’m used to it. But if you always have large things in the back of the truck then this might be more of a hassle...but again...for the couple times a year I need my full bed...I’ll just pull it off.
  5. No...when you get eye level just lift up and you will see the square hole (it’s offset...not straight). Next to every square hole is a slightly smaller circle hole ( it sits up a bit higher so pull that plastic cap up more to see it). You slide the J hook into the square cutout and snap/slide it in, by doing this the nut portion of the Jhook/nut will sit behind that smaller circle hole...and that’s where the screw goes through. Once you see how it works it’s easy to do...just took me a few minutes to figure it out.
  6. Ok all installed. Took me maybe an hour. It’s all about the “J Hooks”...that plastic cap on top of the sides of the bed hides some pre drilled holes in the composite underneath. I used a pry bar to pry the plastic up and slide the j hooks into the square holes. That’s the hardest part really...after that just screw in some screws and put the cover on. There’s a couple clamps (you can see one in the pictures) that hold the whole thing in place that mounts into a pre drilled hole in the rail. There’s a nice lock on the cover right up against the cab and the other end opens with a twist handle (you can see it in the pictures). The tailgate opens freely and overall I think its a great tonneau cover...it’s made of a Super heavy duty material and it’s a nice low profile tonneau. Good job GM!
  7. I just picked up the gm cover made for the carbon pro bed and it is super nice...heavy duty cover. I’m really happy with it. It’s worth the $1100... It installs with rails...and locks. I haven’t installed it yet...but will tomorrow...if anyone wants pictures...
  8. just ordered one...$1100
  9. Check out the extang solid fold 2.0. It secures with just 4 clamps that happen to sit right above the top four tie down hooks of the bed (2 in front, 2 in the back). I purchased a pack of steel zip ties, ran two through the tie down hooks (I used 2 as a failsafe) and then hooked them to the two front most clamps (one on each side) and tightened the clamps down tight (it isn’t going anywhere). I then just ran a single steel zip tie through the top tie down hooks on either side in the back... and the spring clamps just hook into them and keeps the back secure. I just kept the back zip ties slightly loose to allow the clamp to be un hooked for folding the cover back. Took me like 10 minutes and it looks and works fantastically...made my wife super happy. It’s definitely good to hold me over till something else comes out. im sure I made this sound harder than it is...I can add some pics if needed. Got the steel zip ties at Home Depot for 8 bucks.
