  1. No.I was rented the Vector CANcaseXL as well, which was annoying because if they wanted a raw CAN recording I could have gotten a log for them as I have similar tools at my disposal. I never saw the VDDS tool or the screenshot from above either. The CANcase has an SD card it recorded to, and you sent them the datafile. Not having any ECU communication tools will be the death of these vehicles. I had not reached out to Ryan James for a couple years now as my truck has been doing fine. Concerning hearing that even minimal support is gone, but not really unexpected.
  2. Much more like the Chevrolet Volt. It would be easy to control with the engine off, but while the engine is running the generator would need to be speed matched, or a CVT transmission required to match the output. There is only 1-2" between the two motors IIRC, so really only a rigid coupling would fit which would not work. The solution implemented, while not the most efficient, is the simplest to implement and works well. I bought mine with ~3k miles, up to 40k now without major issues. Love the truck, and hopefully I get a lot more time with it as it seems PHEVs are not getting the OEM attention they deserve. Saw another one just sell on eBay last week for $24.5k. It was definitely one I had seen for sale previously though, probably from someone posting here if you look through the thread.
  3. Good deal, think it is the second cheapest I have seen at auction. Was honestly considering picking up a second as a parts truck considering how terrible the market has gotten recently, and what happened with the EV truck availability and pricing. No problems with mine, but long term I know this will become an issue.
  4. Where was this? I would sometimes search ProxyBid but would like to keep a better eye out.
  5. Did this fix your truck? With a couple out there for sale now do you mind sharing what you got yours for at auction? Had mine for ~30k miles now and has not given me too much trouble at least. Only 250 of these out there I guess, mine is still the only non-white truck I have seen in the wild though I think I would prefer the white in the hot Texas sun.
  6. That is interesting. Did Carvana just think it was a Silverado? Mine comes up with codes when scanning the OBD-II port that would give some pause to a dealer. This gives me more pause in how long I should attempt to keep the truck I suppose, but I would really like to wait until other (affordable) options are available. As mentioned previously I like the idea of the Lightning, though the low production numbers will make them hard to get a hold of.
  7. What did the the 5kwh battery module replacement entail? Was labor involved? Shipping the main pack? Did they have old stock on hand, or did they repair your module?
  8. It sucks that you have had a hard time with your truck. I bought mine 2 years ago now and knew I was potentially getting into a mess, especially since mine had codes and warning lights when purchased. Two years and 25k miles though with no major problems yet. The vehicle definitely has its quirks, but considering the price ($17k) I feel pretty good. I like the idea of the truck, and there is still nothing out there like it, though the new Ford Lightning with the export power potential is enticing. This is a treasure trove of information though, so thanks for sharing.
