I have a Chevy Silverado I bought brand new July 2019 yes they have brake sensors and a pass to monitor them I have seen the brake pad and there actually is a sensor in the pad I have driven 4700 miles NO HARD BREAKING I get a diagnostic every month from Chevy I’ve had 2 hard breaks since I’ve owned it (deer jump out) so really just normal actually baby driving it still and my pad life is at 56% I said to myself and the dealer that “no damn way I’m changing breaks at 10,000 that’s ridiculous “ she said it’s the software they will check pad but hand to make sure and that software should correct it but I said it very damn well CAUSE THATS INSANE!!! Any car except a 2011 Chevy Malibu I had has never had to have brakes done til 50,00 75000 miles except the maiibu that had to have brakes every 12,000 miles for real Chevy said it was due to road salt from the northeast well I said back um I changed them in June it’s now august used to highway drive for work and no road salt in summer so that was a defect on them but didn’t want to hear about it and I knew other PEOLE with same Malibu had same trouble brakes every 10,000 miles which Chevy offered ZERO RELIEF AND DIDNT WANT TO HEAR ....SO I SAID NOT THIS TIME THEY WILL BE REPLACING BRAKES OR FIVING ME A NEW CAR BECAUSE I AM JOT CHANGING BRAKES EVEY 10,000 miles that’s unheard of except in the Malibu situation....so I have an appt the 26th dec to address brake recall problem and we shall see anyone else get back to me too but I will def let you all know what happens and thanks for all your input
