  1. I appreciate the discussion on this forum. We purchased a 2018 pre-owned Suburban and then realized once we put our Great Pyr dogs into the back cargo area for a ride that, although she is pretty, it no longer functioned like the older models that we need for our business/dogs/family lives in general. The interior height of the cargo area has been reduced significantly due to the hidden seat feature and it declines by several inches toward the back entry. Not good for the travels we do with the dogs or for hauling our home improvement business needs easily. So, we went looking for an older model before the changes to the features occurred in 2015. Presently this morning, in negotiations regarding a found 2014 Charcoal metallic Suburban. However, although listed as "pristine" in the online ad, it has a "scorched" looking hood and top that the Casey Toyota dealer claimed to not have known (?). It was so visible to the naked eye I questioned the truth of that statement. CarFax says it comes from CA and AZ; therefore, I reasonably suspected overexposure to sun/heat as the causal factor. In reading this, I'm wondering if the above stated problems are also key. The dealer seems eager to get rid of it offering to paint the hood and top it if we "buy it today." Hmmm...not sure that will resolve the issue if the paint is overall defective. So sad, I really love my 2005 Suburban because it fits my petite stature and has been perfect as a work/off road fun and family truck, but she has almost 220K with no paint issues and I know I need to get something that functions like her soon. I'm wondering if they paint it professionally, will the issues return and/or continue in the other areas. We can't afford to make another decision that impacts us negatively.
