  1. i have not tried the bluetooth devices or any apps. Just an old Edge monitor that plugs directly into the obd2. It was leftover from an older truck. Thats good news about some of you having good luck with the bluetooth ones, and phone apps. Mostly looking for trans gear and temp. I do have temp on the DIC but I have the custom level trim so I have the basic trans temp. Anyone using iPhone or I pad and what app?
  2. How much weight are you going to be towing? I have a 2020 TrailBoss with the 5.3 and a 6 speed transmission. The 6.2 and 10 speed will be a a great engine and trans for towing. The trail boss specifically is not the best package for towing in the lineup. Raised height, softer suspension, aggressive tires. All those things will effect towing and magnify any issues. I went with a trail boss mostly so I could get a 2 speed transfer case. I knew I would not be towing over 6,000 pounds. I did not have the budget to get a higher trim package to get the 2 speed t-case. I went with a custom level TB. With my truck I have pulled dual axel 7500 pound Flatbed trailer loaded with lumber and found my setup just fine, truck did squat a little. Not sure what the actual tongue weight was, trailer loaded was 6500. My single axel TT weighs 4,000 pounds loaded and is no problem for my trail boss. If you were towing over 6,000 pounds regularly the trail boss is not the best option in my opinion.
  3. Im looking to get a little more engine monitoring on my 2020 1500 custom trail boss. 5.3L with the 6 speed. I hooked up my old edge monitor to the obd2 port and only about 50% of the gauges would work. I updated the software and reset the device. Made sure Chevy was selected and still only about 50% of the gauges worked. This is the older Edge unit. Has anyone found a obd2 device that actually communicates with these trucks? I would love one that's bluetooth with an app on my phone or iPad to show the gauges. Thanks in Advance.
  4. Bump this back up to see if I can get any feedback, Thanks
  5. 2020 custom trail boss 5.3 6 speed. I did the flapper mod and noticed a big difference on start up, very small difference but noticeable during driving. This is with out the screens covered. I will cover the screens this week and see if it makes any difference.
  6. I have a 2020 Custom Trail Boss, 5.3 and 6 speed and 3.42 rear with 2200 miles. Changed tires to firestone winter force studded. Living in Alaska and I have a newborn so I am warming the truck up with remote start every time. Usually about 10 min of idle before I drive off. I am about 50/50 city and hwy driving. My milage is 17.5 mpg for the 2,000 miles I have on this truck. I don't drive faster than 65 and most of the time its at 60 mph. On flat road at 60 mph I can get 23-24 mpg easily. Most of my highway driving with a few hills mixed in comes to 21 mpg average. This is hand calculated, when compared to the truck info screen my millage is always within 3%. I have been very impressed how accurate the screen says my millage is. I expect to see a loss in milage when I put back on the duratrack tires. They weigh 7 more pounds per tire and have a much more aggressive tread. So far I have been very pleased with the millage.

  8. I recently purchased a 2020 custom trail boss. I am loving this truck. Went to buy a used truck and salesman showed me some new ones with big discounts and ended up with this truck for not much more money. Low mile used trucks are so expensive here in Anchorage. My question is: Has anyone added trailer tire pressure monitoring to a 1500 custom? The only app I have on my infotainment is "trailer lights." After searching through the Silverado app on my phone I see there is a lot more this truck can do to monitor towing. It appears there is a Trailer App I do not see on my screen. Shows trailer profile, MPG with trailer, TPMS.... Can I get the dealer to add this app to my screen? Or am I stuck because I did not purchase a trim level that included it? If I can't get the app is their a way to sinc the TPMS to show in the truck. I just have the simple D.I.C. on the dash. Thanks for everyones info on this site, I have learned a lot and hope to be able to help out in the future!!
