I have a small midland with no bells and whistles. Don't take up much room at all. Just bought one to use when my goldwing bike goes into the shop for maintenance. never used any other radio except the on my bike.

I want to place the radio mount on the floor between the driver and passenger using self tapping screws, but not sure if there are any other wires i might hit with the screws. Has anyone done an install like this?
