Hi all, first post here as I'm new the forum.
I have a 2017 Sierra 1500 SLE with 50k. I have an intermittent issue where the battery drains while the truck is parked and when I go to start it up, I have to jump it. I had the battery load-tested at a local shop and it is still pulling ~720 CCA so the battery itself is fine. It has only happened 3 or 4 times, but has happened both overnight and also when the truck has only been parked for an hour or so. Contrarily, I'll often go to start it after it's been sitting for a few days and have no issues.
I've caught it a couple times where I've shut the truck off, gotten out and shut the door and locked it. Came back a little bit later and realized the infotainment screen was still on or the radio was playing etc.
Girlfriend's Dad is a mechanic who works primarily on GM fleet trucks. He hasn't seen the truck in person but his guess is either a faulty Body Control Module or a failing door sensor, that would cause electronics to drain the battery while the truck is allegedly off.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or know if this a common issue?
Thanks,
Justin
