My headliner was done using the original fabric just for the sake of keeping it original.

I got these from Summit Racing website. Good fit and direct replacement.

Little update: Did the window seals. Here's the before pictures and the next post will be the after.

Little update: Truck now has AC Its dropped off at the shop getting worked on and should be back to me before the weekend with a fresh headliner and a tuneup

Today I cleaned up alot of the gunk out of the engine bay getting ready for the mechanic on tuesday. Also cleaned the seat cover and threw it back on the bench until I decide what im doing with the seat. My headliner is postponed until sometime next week so I ordered some missing bits and pieces I needed. Tomorrow the mission is to get the underbody steam washed and fix a start issue. It cranks for what feels like too long before starting. If anyone has reccomendations on batteries shoot them my way I'm all ears. Also what gas are you guys running ? Maybe a higher octane is what is needed.

Thank you, the fact that it has almost no rust is the best part to me. The grass is always greener on the other side, am I right? Its funny you don't notice a car until you get one. I'm seeing these more and more now.

My new mechanic friend has given me something worth its weight in gold. And the paint scheme of the truck on the front cover just finishes it off. I will definitely be using this parts catalog in the near future. To anyone wondering, it's a complete parts catalog for rigs this old where parts aren't exactly easily accessible.

Sorry for the single picture per post, the file sizes were too big to upload together. Only 3 days into owning the truck, and I've met several enthusiasts and people who've helped me along the way from upholstery, to mechanic recommendations, to appraisal specialists, to insurance agents. All great people who love the square body trucks. Its opening my eyes to the great community here in my area and the help I've gotten is so appreciated. I'm getting the truck worked on this weekend and have an appointment with my mechanic on Tuesday for a tune-up. After talking with him for about a half hour I decided I'm only taking the truck to his shop. He really knows what he's talking about and is a c10 owner himself. I'm getting the oil changed, tranny flushed, and spark plug wires replaced. Will update on the work done. I decided I'm redoing the headliner but keeping the bench seat original. I'll throw a cover on it for now so it doesn't wear any more than it has.

So I've been told. I think I'm going to just leave it as is. The AC isnt a big deal for me we literally get two weeks of summer where I'm from!

Thanks for the reply and it’s good to be here. I was rushing when I made the post, it is a c20. And you are right about the TH400. I’m learning this all as fast as I can. I have a left and right gas tank, yes. The build sheet shows the side mount spare wheel as an option(P13) but I believe the original side mount hardware was replaced. I took a few pictures of the underbody and interior for you guys to see. It’s a very clean northwest truck with *minimal* rust. There is a dent on the driver door a small ding on the rear of the cab and some other small scuffs.

Tomorrow, I'm getting an appraisal done by a specialist in these trucks. Hoping to get more than a price from him as I'd like to keep the truck and maybe restore it to its previous glory.

Hey everyone, To start off I want to introduce myself and my truck and give a little story behind the truck. Within the last couple of days I had a 1983 chevy pickup fall into my hands from the original owner's family. The truck has 150,000 miles and looks to be in excellent shape. The truck is very clean and optioned nicely compared to other models I've seen online, but honestly I feel like I may be in over my head. The truck is completely original besides the tires and bed liner which was line-x'd sometime in the past. I was going to start fixing little things on the truck(headliner, bench seat upholstery, ..) but after looking at what these things are worth I see now that it may be more valuable if kept original. My plan with this truck was to do a simple tune-up and minor repairs like the seat cushion and things like that and list it for sale. Now I'm not sure if I should change anything about it. As of today, the truck is running and driving and stopping and its a blast to cruise around on. This post is either the start of my restomod, or just a general update thread. If you guys have any insight for me I would highly appreciate feedback. I'm new to this community and wasn't particularly interested in these trucks until I bought it two days ago as an impulse buy.
