  1. Agreed. Take it to the stealership. I have hauled around town several weekends and still have not added any since I bought it. Sitting at 4,100 miles.
  2. I went with the KO2’s and they look and feel great. I love the stiffness of the D load range. However, I am thinking about going to Ultraterrains. Just in town I went from 23-34 mpg to 18-19. I know most of you would not care, but I Drive 45,000 miles a year and that adds up. Not a fan of the 2 ply sidewall on the UT’s but the only off-roading I do is sand and maintained hunting paths.
  3. you figure they would fit without a level? Seems to be a lot of wheel well left to fill on these trucks.
  4. Ordering new shoes this week. Can't decide between the Ultraterrain in 275/60 or the BFG in the same size. BFG comes in Load range D, which I like since I do air down and trailer at least a few times a month. Haven't had BFG's in 15 years. Are they still the "go to" for A/T's or should I roll with the Ultraterrains?
  5. Thanks everyone. Decided not to go with a 285. My choices are 275/60 in SL or 275/65 in E with the Ultraterrain. Leaning towards the 75 since it will be a bit taller and tougher tire. I've never had anything other than LT tires on my trucks so to me the SL's are a bit mushy. Discount Tire tells me the 275/65/20 will fit no problem. I agree. Anyone have any experience?
  6. As the title states I am putting some new tires on the truck. Right now I have the 275/60/20 Bridgestone Alenza. I have pretty much decided on the Goodyear Ultraterrain. We like to wheel on OBX and head to the mountains in the winter so these seem like a great option imo. My question I have stock suspension. I originally wanted to go with a 285/65/20 to give it a beefier look. Then I started looking at going with the stock size but noticed it was an SL rated. As someone who will be towing in the future should I go with the larger tire size in the E load or will I be fine with an SL? Thanks for the help.
  7. Awesome thanks for all the replies everyone. I have an air compressor that I will bring on board so I will air down to 16 and stay in Auto just to be on the safe side. I have been in the beach tons of times in the past, just not in my truck, so was a bit unsure of what selection to use. Looking forward to getting some fishing in.
  8. I just purchased my 2020 silverado 3.0 LT. I did not get the Z71 package since I rarely off road and only used 4Lo on my previous Silverado twice in 10 years. Of course now that I opted to not get the 4Lo package and only have the terrain mode feature the wife wants to drive on the beach next weekend. Anyone have an experience running 4Hi or terrain mode on sand? I don't want to be the idiot out there stuck in my brand new truck. Of course I'll be airing down.
  9. As the title states, I hope I am not experiencing the chevy shudder in my brand new truck. First of all I love the 3.0. It is great around town, is quiet, yet has enough diesel sound to satisfy me. Just did a trip today that was mixed back roads and interstate and averaged 30 mpg. With that being said I only have 400 miles on the truck so I have not run it fast or hard. I did notice on the interstate once I started accelerating (while in cruise control) and the rear end gave a terrible shudder. The second time I was going up a hill and applied acceleration (maybe around 2200 rpm worth) and I got the same response. No issues around town and feeling of tranny slipping. Tell me that the tranny is learning shift points/driving style and I'm not going to have to deal with the shudder. Anyone else experience000 this on the diesel or 10 speed tranny?
  10. Interested. This is the exact set up I am thinking about running.
  11. Can anyone supply pics or comment on how their CV angles look compared to stock? Trying to decide between a 3" and 4" but wasn't sure how the CV's looked on 4".
  12. Thanks for the input. Did you go with the strut spacers or the lifted strut on the RC? What size tires/rims are you running on the 3"? I have been looking at that lift in particular. I think 3.5" would be perfect. I will leave the 4" and up to the younger boys. Just want a poor mans version of a 2500.
  13. That will probably only be about 3-3.5 years for me. Was not wanting to drop the $2,500 on the coilover lifts if the spacers road similar to stock or slightly better.
  14. I'm about to put a 3-4" lift on my new Silverado. My question is (having never lifted a truck) will I notice a huge difference between the spacers and Bilsteins or a coilover lift like the Fabtech or Rough Country. I will be doing about 95% road driving and 5% off road (hunting cabin and trails to get to stands). If the difference won't be huge for me I'd rather go with the spacers since I will probably be trading the truck in @ 100,000 miles.
  15. As the title states, I am looking for the best 3" lift for the $. If all goes as planned the dealership will be getting my new 3.0 Duramax LT transferred from another dealer next week. Before I pick it up I want to have them install a lift and 285's with the stock 20's. I plan on trading this truck in once the warranty is up so I don't want to spend $$$ on this lift. IMO the 2" & leveling kits is not quite enough, but the 4" looks a bit too much. Realistically looking for a stance similar to a stock 2500. I was set on the Superlift but read that its more like 2" instead of 3". Anyone with this lift or any others that can chime in?
