I went with the KO2’s and they look and feel great. I love the stiffness of the D load range.
However, I am thinking about going to Ultraterrains. Just in town I went from 23-34 mpg to 18-19. I know most of you would not care, but I Drive 45,000 miles a year and that adds up.
Not a fan of the 2 ply sidewall on the UT’s but the only off-roading I do is sand and maintained hunting paths.
Ordering new shoes this week. Can't decide between the Ultraterrain in 275/60 or the BFG in the same size. BFG comes in Load range D, which I like since I do air down and trailer at least a few times a month.
Haven't had BFG's in 15 years. Are they still the "go to" for A/T's or should I roll with the Ultraterrains?
Thanks everyone. Decided not to go with a 285. My choices are 275/60 in SL or 275/65 in E with the Ultraterrain. Leaning towards the 75 since it will be a bit taller and tougher tire. I've never had anything other than LT tires on my trucks so to me the SL's are a bit mushy.
Discount Tire tells me the 275/65/20 will fit no problem. I agree. Anyone have any experience?
As the title states I am putting some new tires on the truck. Right now I have the 275/60/20 Bridgestone Alenza.
I have pretty much decided on the Goodyear Ultraterrain. We like to wheel on OBX and head to the mountains in the winter so these seem like a great option imo.
My question I have stock suspension. I originally wanted to go with a 285/65/20 to give it a beefier look. Then I started looking at going with the stock size but noticed it was an SL rated.
As someone who will be towing in the future should I go with the larger tire size in the E load or will I be fine with an SL?
Thanks for the help.
As the title states, I hope I am not experiencing the chevy shudder in my brand new truck. First of all I love the 3.0. It is great around town, is quiet, yet has enough diesel sound to satisfy me. Just did a trip today that was mixed back roads and interstate and averaged 30 mpg.
With that being said I only have 400 miles on the truck so I have not run it fast or hard. I did notice on the interstate once I started accelerating (while in cruise control) and the rear end gave a terrible shudder. The second time I was going up a hill and applied acceleration (maybe around 2200 rpm worth) and I got the same response.
No issues around town and feeling of tranny slipping. Tell me that the tranny is learning shift points/driving style and I'm not going to have to deal with the shudder.
Anyone else experience000 this on the diesel or 10 speed tranny?
