    I have a 2002 Silverado 1500. I have a squeak coming from the alternator bearings. I decided to swap the alternator out of my 1999 GMC Sierra into the Chevy. It reads 15-16 volts, but the battery light flashes as well as my speedometer fully pegged out. Switched the alternators back and problem was gone. Any ideas why it would do this?
