  1. For 23 model year 5.3 powered Sierra's, there is going to be plenty of discounts and incentives available through the end of this month. Depending on where you live and supply, $12-14K is what I see available right now if you have a qualifying trade. 2009 or newer. GM and Costco incentives alone account for $7k. Most dealers in my region are offering $5-6K in dealer discounts from MSRP. High trim RAM 1500's - So many available, the original MSRP's are truly outrageous though. Almost uncompetitive with their competition. Limited series MSRP in the high 80's..... The Laramie's look to be a decent price though, Low 50's which falls in line with the comments of $16k off right off the bat.
  2. I really believe they just think an educated buyer is 2% of the type of buyers they deal with, meaning you walk and 10 minutes later the 2nd guy comes in and they get to rip the guy/girl off on purchase and trade simultaneously. The days of everyone paying over MSRP are over, they really need to get with the program. In my case the purchase price part was agreed in about an hour. Once that was done the trade back and forth was nearly 5 days. I also spoke with the GM and the needle started to move. Mine was an end of month sale (11/24). That could have played a part? My truck had been on the lot 86 days until I drove it off. Most of their other sierras very similar.
  3. I saw a lot of this when looking, some dealers were advertising and taking into account, Student Discounts, Military discounts, GM Loyalty and GM Trade and then 0.9 Financing which isn't stackable. It's a really good exercise in finding out the dealership you really want to deal with. The reluctancy for many of them to provide a complete sales order without you being there in person was also entertaining.
  4. I just got KBB high book value for my trade, Did the first offer from them come in that high?? Absolutely not but eventually they paid what according to KBB they should have. But any discussion on trade took place after the new vehicle price was agreed. $20K is excessive. but pretty sure I am not the only one who has had pretty decent luck with incentives, my 21 had a sticker of $56.5k - I ended up getting $8k off, $1k GM accessory cash and 0% financing on a 3-year term.
  5. There are some fairly recent videos on the Tube where they show RAM's of all flavors being marked up pretty badly, added $15k Market price adjustments etc. I can't validate that as I have never looked myself on a RAM lot. As far as GMC goes. There are deals to be had on certain models, trims and driveline specifications. My 23 was heavily incentivized, Both dealer and GM/Vender incentives. and almost $20k total off if including that absolutely absurd market adjustment BS addition that surely no one is paying in today's environment. I even laughed when the dealer still had the Market Adjustment add on still glued up on the rear window. You may get some dealer kick backs on a AT4 but the 3.0's are generally still in quite high demand, at least in my neck of the woods anyway. Gone are the good old days in terms of zero percent financing. Dealers are certainly not moving many $75k rigs at 7% + Interest. Rates will continue to drive incentivized products
  6. Yes, my 21 didn't do it either. My wife's non GMC branded SUV from 2013 has automatic steering and heat warmers when the temperature hit below 40. I always thought that was a neat option that we had not seen since.
  7. Does your truck come with the Bose premium sound system? Mine sounded a little muddled when I first got it. Played around with the audio control a little and now it sounds very good. Assume this is the reason you're looking at dash speaker replacements?
  8. Very similar here. I haven't had it on long enough to see if it evens out but shall try, At least i know its operating normally now !!
  9. I recently traded in my 2021 for a 2023 model 1500 Sierra. One thing I have noticed immediately is the heat my refreshed Sierra's steering wheel is putting out. It is significantly hotter to the touch than my previous truck. Infact, I turn it off fairly quickly after starting it compared to the older gen which I just left on continuously. Anyone else have a similar experience? Not really a complaint but certainly a noticeable difference for me. Heated seats seem roughly the same as before.
  10. I never run my cars through the automatic scratchers, When the truck is really dirty, I use a touchless wash otherwise every few days I just wipe down the panels and windows down using the ONR/Microfiber towel method. Wipe one way and turn the towel over and repeat. Takes 15 minutes tops
  11. I will snap a picture of the GMC Rubber mat tomorrow for you. My Tonneau cover was a cheap as chips roll up kind. Gator ETX - Link below. My expectations when I bought it was pretty low, I didn't want the added weight of a retractable or hard cover violin style. I also had concerns about room being taken as I also have the short bed. Got to admit I have been more than happy with the Gator. The slim line fit is also a major plus for me, I did not want something adding 3 inches of pad over the bed and covering the side rails. In the hotter climates when we were down in Arizona the cover done fine, very hot to the touch but that goes for anything. https://www.amazon.com/Gator-Tonneau-137245-Sierra-Silverado/dp/B07J2T7DZC/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2R0WQGYZYB7EV&keywords=gator+tonneau+cover+sierra+1500&qid=1701225755&sprefix=gator+tonneau+cover+sierra%2Caps%2C299&sr=8-5 Some pics I had on my phone for the Cover fitment.
  12. The tonneau cover will leak a little in the corners, I live in the PNW so that's more of an issue for me than maybe someone in the Southwest? The GMC Ruber mat i purchased for my previous SLT without a spray in liner. Ruber was likely going to hold up longer and be more practical for my usage. I went with GMC for two reasons. The fitment and i had about 16k GMC reward points on my truck purchase so I was able to use them towards to Mat. I am sure Aftermarket mats would fit just fine though.
  13. GMC Factory mat for me also on top of the spray in liner of my current truck. Had the same Matt in my bed of non-spray lined SLT. We carry two Kayaks often; the rubber mat does an excellent job to stop them moving around and getting scratched up. Same with other items We have a tonneau cover.
  14. Yes, figured it would be over the published Payload weight from AS but I also switched out to batteries to Lithium. I don't store much in the front exterior storage locker etc, but you are probably right, and I am over the 837 number. The Denali trim if staying with a Sierra is the only way I go if upgrading from my 2021 SLT in the half ton class. Thats an impressive payload number you are getting there with the Silverado. I will have to look into the Carbon Pro bed. Not sure how much weight that would save in Payload.
  15. Towing a 25ft Airstream. 5700 lbs- Dry Weight 7000 lbs Fully loaded. 837 lbs Tongue weight I currently own a 2021 5.2 Sierra 1500 X31 with the 5.3 / 10 Speed. The stickered max payload is 1683 LBS with a max tongue weight of 930 LBS. I have pulled roughly 8K miles with this setup without issue, Infact I am very impressed overall. But I know I am close on the payload numbers. 837 lbs Trailer Tongue 83 lbs Weight Distribution Hitch 100 lbs cargo in truck bed 640 lbs Passengers 1660 lbs total. The reason for me asking this question > Really like the new facelift, both interior and exterior but not overly keen on the SLT trim in the new facelift, really like the Denali package. But as other have mentioned so far, the payload limits on the Denali are less than available on the SLT trim in most cases. Unless there is a specific build that gets payload numbers closer to what i have. I wasn't aware the Max Tow Pkg was not an available option on the Denali's - That counts that out. Fully aware all payload concerns with this would be alleviated if I jump up to a HD truck. I haven't ruled that out yet. But I daily drive my current truck and get very decent MPG, I can park it in most places without concern, it's just a very easy truck to live with day to day. If I move into a HD truck, I have to then deal with pretty terrible MPG and parking will be a nightmare. One way I could at least remove the MPG concern is move up to a Duramax 6.6 but then with that comes additional upfront purchase cost and the price of Diesel/Maintenance also. All of these factors pushing me to explore all options on the 1500 before I rule it out.
  16. Hey Denali Owners Would some of you be kind enough to share you Max payload and Tongue weight limits on your 1500 Denali's Wondering what the general average is for non-Max Trailer package equipped trucks in this trim. Cheers
  17. Another JR - Thank you. This was exactly what I was looking for. And yes, the RTA taxation is very hefty, Over ^$625 per year on my 21 Sierra. Paying all these taxes and the highest price fuel in the nation is getting old. This probably makes any potentially change in truck drive me towards an HD which would make most sense with our regular towing of our trailer.
  18. Sorry for the crazy late reply. Never got a notification via email. And to answer no I did not, it still does it, as does two of my neighborhood friends, even one with a New 2024 does the same thing. I don't like it, but it's there. Outside that, the truck has been pretty flawless.
  19. Guys For anyone living from as far south as Lakewood and as far north as Everett. Any of you bought a 2500 or 3500 HD in the last 3 years and had to pay RTA tax when getting the car registered at the DMV? Not talking about the initial sales tax at purchase but the RTA tax the gets added at the time of registering the truck? I am told these trucks are RTA exempt due to gross weight. Can anyone with ownership experience actually validate that? WAC 308-57-140: Thanks
  20. Vigilante375 You ever get to the bottom of this? Mine does the same thing at low speeds when towing, Normally on inclines or small hills. I have the 10 speed.
  21. I am pretty new to the truck ownership world. Rode in plenty but never owned one, I spent months test driving and researching every brand and ultimately ended up with the truck i really wanted, GMC Sierra SLT. For me GM trucks just have that correct balance of simplicity and refinement. For the last 15 years i have driven mostly Mid to High tier German cars and there was up until recent years an emphasis on understated luxury, for me my GMC is as close as i can get to that point without complicating matters with huge infotainment screens and electrical gemics. I am not sure outside of the RAM how far behind the game the GM line up really is? Comparatively the base end of these full size trucks is a pretty even field. The RAM classic is pretty much priced in the same as the Custom Chevy and for me the Custom was a better truck overall, The classic was a bit long in the tooth now. The F150 in XL trim was light years behind the other american brands, Tundra was much more expensive and the Titan was a no go for me. Stepping into Mid - Tier trucks the competition got much closer, RAM has some pretty impressive offerings on their Laramie and up trims but i never bought into the whole "its German luxury in an american truck" BS spouted all over the internet, It was well put together, Looked nice but ultimately i couldn't get past the exterior styling. The stories about the 8 speed transmission in these trucks also scared me quite a bit. The F150 (Pre 2021MY) just didn't do it for me, Even with Lariat trims and above the interior plastics just killed me. I must admit the new model does look pretty nice. The GMC for me was just the right balance, Interior in SLT is clean, subtle and understated,. Just enough tech to get me through what i need, Loved the exterior styling, The Multipro tailgate was a huge selling point for me also. And in the end the 5.3 has been around forever and has a solid reputation. All of these trucks are not cheap now days. Looking at mid 30's just for a base truck and over 50 for a mid tier and it just goes up, I see the argument for a value for money prop but these are tools. My wifes 11 year old bmw SUV has some features still not included with my 2021 truck but its a different kind of car. Built for a different market base.
