  1. I was driving to work one morning right after Thanksgiving last year and slid on a patch of black ice. My 1996 Chevy Silverado 4x4 extended cab shorted spun in a circle and we slid off the road sideways in a sloped grassy area next to a cornfield. The truck stopped sliding hard as I was slammed up against the driver's door. I had 3 flat tires. The truck was trailered home and I just had a chance to check it out a month ago. The rear axle was bent and after replacing both axles, bearings and seals and whole braking system in the rear I took it for a drive. My steering wheel is one eighth of a turn off when driving straight ahead. It didn't pull to one side or the other. I noticed the bumper pad on the lower control arm is a little closer to the shock than the other side. What is the possible damage ? Would it be a bent control arm or possibly something else? I haven't spent a lot of time looking yet but just wanted to hear some possibilities of what may be bent or out of place? I can be reached at my email, [email protected] for any suggestions
