I don't own either of these products but if you look up TailGateFix.com you'll find they make both a load stop lock to keep the step up and a split gate override to prevent being able to drop the second gate into a hitch.

Scarab 30 Tournament behind my '21 6.2 with Max Tow Package. Boat and trailer come in at 9600 lbs without fuel or gear. Fully loaded with 280 gallons of fuel it scales at 11,200 lbs, just under max tow rating for the truck. I do not tow any long distances fully fueled, just fill up right before reaching the launch.

Bought on Friday, launched boat Saturday. Towed my 10k boat surprisingly well, should be even better when my weight distribution hitch shows up. For those worried about weight without a LDH the boat ramp is on the same property about 500 yards away so I didn't actually tow it on the road yet.
