  1. Passenger side view mirror got smashed. Is this going to require a whole new mirror assembly replacement? Or just a new mirror/glass?
  2. Starting this past Friday, I received weird (inaccurate) message from the MyGMC app, and over the weekend the app won’t connect to the GM servers. At the same time this weekend, the trusted device feature isn’t working to unlock the screen. Anyone else having this issue?
  3. I would be curious to know if your sound issue, specifically the satellite radio cutting out, was fixed with the software update. I got a new GMC Sierra in July, and I have noticed this issue just with the satellite radio, so I was considering that it might be a satellite issue, but now I’m thinking it’s a truck/software issue. Thanks!
  4. Curious to know if the dealer did something to help your situation. I have a new 2024 that I got in July, and the Onstar data and speed signs have been a constant issue.
  5. I had my 2020 GMC Sierra stolen in May from a hotel parking garage. I got an email from Onstar about a broken glass alert…I saw the email 9 minutes after it happened. The truck was already gone by then. Called Onstar… this was within 15 minutes of the glass break, but they could never locate the truck. According to the police officer that responded to my call, thieves typically first cut the horn wire through the grill or from under the truck. On mine, they broke the driver’s side window to get in, and were able to drive off, apparently by hacking the computer system. They pulled the Onstar antenna wire, so Onstar was worthless (15 minutes after the glass was broken they were not able to locate the truck). The truck was stopped at the border going in to Mexico the next morning. I wish I hadn’t know it was gone until the next morning. Took 2 months of ridiculous that I won’t go into with the insurance company before it was totaled. Now I have a new 2024 Sierra. Love the updates and the new truck, but not loving the Google info system mess. I’m also incredibly paranoid now about this truck being stolen. I have spent way too much time on YouTube looking for preventative measures only to come away with the idea that I really just need to be lucky. That is not the best feeling. I don’t know enough to understand how the CrocLoc will help to prevent thefts, but I am always open to ideas that might help!
  6. No. I popped the panel closest to the tailgate handle on the inside of the inner gate, to remove a bolt. Also had to unscrew the light and the camera from the old cover. New cover fit in perfectly.
  7. I’d be interested in knowing how this works for you. After having my 2020 Sierra stolen from a “secure hotel parking garage” I am very paranoid!
  8. I had the same issue last week with the updated app. Everything in the list had a warning, but nothing in the truck had a warning light. Next day it was clear. But it also showed (see pic) that I was getting “heavenly” mpg, so I chalked it all up to app update bug. Another user said reinstalling the app will clear the issue.
  9. Thanks for the tip! Did you have any issues with logging back in? I remember when I first got my truck I had a tough time getting everything set up,
  10. They recently updated the MyGMC app. I think there is a bug in the new calculation formula. If only it was true!
  11. To follow up, I did order the new handle cover with the chrome piece (I couldn’t find the original all black cover by itself), and installed it myself. I’ve included some pics if anyone is interested.
  12. That’s a nice improvement! I recently bought a used 2020 GMC, and the tailgate handle cover had a crack from where I think it was lowered with a hitch installed. It would be nice to be able to lock that upper portion when you install your hitch so you don’t have to worry about accidentally dropping that portion of the gate. It seems like that would be a software/programming issue, but I am sure it will never be available to the previous year models before the 22.
  13. Do the two tailgate buttons, camera and light have to be detached from the old handle and attached to the new one? Or does the handle frame just slide over those parts?
  14. I would agree with you, he definitely did not! I didn’t notice the outline of the inner gate until the first time I looked at picture of the rear of the truck I had taken to send to a friend. That’s when I had the “well I’ll be” moment. I had to walk outside to look at it just to confirm that I wasn’t seeing things. Sure enough, it had been right there in front of me for two weeks. There are a few things that are minor annoyances with the truck, but overall I really do love it! The last truck I had was a 1993 Chevy (which I had until 2013), so this is definitely a huge leap in pretty much every category. Been driving an SUV for the past 8 years, so it is really nice to be in a truck again. This forum has been a huge help in tracking down info and learning things “the easy way” instead of the hard way! Thanks again to all who responded, and thanks gemarsh for the link and part name. Now I just have to find a GMC service department around here who is as competent as you guys!
  15. Yes, that was my thought also. I fall into the “I don’t drive around with my hitch in place when I’m not towing” category. Although I understand how someone could accidentally hit the wrong button. It took me a few times to remember which button is which. I didn’t realize for two weeks that the handle actually has a diagram to help us slow learners.
  16. Thanks! That is what I needed to know.
  17. I recently purchased a used, 2020 GMC Sierra. The top of the plastic cover over the two tailgate buttons has a crack in it, and I have looked and looked and haven’t been able to find a part number or even what it is supposed to be called. Does anyone know or can point me in the right direction? Also, has anyone ever replaced one of these? Is it difficult? I love this truck. There have been a few things that I have had to fix, or chose to upgrade, but this one bugs me every time I open the tailgate. Pics attached of the part I am referring to in case I have not been clear with my explanation. Thanks!
