Hi everyone,
I’ve searched everywhere online and can’t find anyone with a similar issue to this. I drive a 2014 Silverado 1500 LT Z71. Sometimes when I’m accelerating, especially in the lower gears (say 1-3 range), my truck will randomly buck forward as if I pressed the brakes very hard. It is quite annoying and I imagine it can’t be good for my transmission or tcase. It feels like the traction control just randomly engages for a split second. I have no lights on the dash, even when this happens, no odd noises while driving, and no other transmission symptoms other than the clunk the truck makes when this happens. It usually happens if I park and then start it back up and start driving again in a short period of time.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Or does anyone have any clue as to what it might be? Maybe stabilitrak since I know they have issues with this system, or maybe the ABS system has a faulty sensor somewhere. I’d much rather find someone who might have a clue before I spend the money on a dealer to check it and either tell me there’s “nothing wrong” or they fix the wrong issue (been there, done that, never again).
Additional info:
- Had loose plug wire that caused misfire, when this happened the traction control and abs lights came on. Subsequently fixed and no lights since
- Does not happen every time I drive, but often enough that it’s become a nuisance
- Around 110k on truck
- No modifications, bone stock truck
