@TruckGuy40165 Did you ever get a firm answer on this? I'm looking for similar info myself; wondering if an earlier 6L90 will work if the correct year valve body and TEHCM is used. I have a 2016 needing a rebuild and found a GM reman from a 2009.

Hi all, I have a 2016 GMC 2500HD with a 6.0 and 6L90 trans. At almost 200K miles the trans of course has some problems (4-5 shift flair/whine, delayed stop to 1st engagement, 2-1 bump shift). I found a low-milage (40K) GM Reman 6L90 that was in a 2009 Chevy 2500 that of course has a different part number. The question is: would it work in my 2016 if I use the 2016 valve body and TEHCM? TIA!
