  1. Hello everyone, Since I still do not have any news from GM more than 3 months since I reported the integrated trailer brake controller issues, I have filled a complaint to Transport Canada. This issue is life threatening, somebody will be gravely injured or killed in a road accident if this issue is not fixed, it should be top priority for GM and all authorities that regulate public transportation and road safety! Very disappointed on how GM handles this!
  2. I did not hear anything yet about a fix. Someone on this forum said GM told them that a fix should be available between Thanksgiving and Christmas... 3 more days until Christmas... please Santa, I've been good and worked hard all year, I just want my truck to work as expected... I promise I'll never buy again GM products!
  3. It looks like Ford also has trailer brake controller issues, though different than ours. At least they figured out how to fix them! I wonder if GM and Ford use the same supplier.
  4. I had an exchange of emails with GM in October when GMCustomerService contacted me on this forum. They validated with my dealer the error code C159C and said the GM engineers are aware of the problem and working on a solution. This was on October 19th. No news since.
  5. Hello, does anybody here have the camera issue too (white lines at the top, see my first post at the beginning of the thread) when the trailer is connected? I hope my two issues are related, and fixing the trailer brake controller will also fix the camera which is otherwise unusable when is dark outside. Thanks!
  6. Thank you for the update brentrb031! I hope the timeline GM refers to (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) refers to the current year :P.
  7. Thank you Shield1984, this info is very appreciated! It is was the dealership told me too: unknown issue, GM working on it. Reading the report I see the bulletin was created 3 weeks ago, on September 27th. I believe it will take some time to GM engineers to figure out a solution, but hopefully not more than a month!
  8. So it looks this issue is not isolated. Let's keep each others updated on the subject so that if one of us gets to fix the issue, the others could also benefit quickly.
  9. Hi GMCustomerService, Thank you for your message, I just sent a detailed email to [email protected], hope it will speed up the resolution of these issues.
  10. Hi Silveradosid, No, I have not, but my trailer brakes worked perfectly with the aftermarket brake controller (Primus IQ 90160) installed on my previous vehicle.
  11. Hi Shield1984, Thank you for your comments! Yes please, I would like to have more details on bulletin PIT5948A. I will also open a case with GM this week, I have to get more info on the procedure. Any hints on this topic would also be very appreciated. I absolutely agree with you on the Lemon Law! Although we don't have the Lemon Law in Canada, there is an equivalent that can ultimately force the manufacturer to buy back the truck. I absolutely love this truck, but I bought it for the towing capabilities, so if it cannot accomplish its main purpose, it is useless for me! Thank you!
  12. I had an appointment yesterday and the dealer tested the issue with a new brake controller, but the same error codes have been displayed (C159C). It looks like there is a software issue. Looks like GM published a technical bulletin (PIT5948A), but I can't find any details on it. I just hope GM will find and fix the issues soon, I bought the truck for towing and I can't use it.
  13. Hi Fred, can you give more details about the compatible brand connector you installed and fixed your issue? Thank you!
  14. Hello everyone, I have recently acquired a 2022 Silverado LT Trail Boss and since the first time I connected my trailer (a 2020 Flagstaff E-Pro 20BHS) I have this buggy display on the camera. The brake controller randomly stops working, but the camera is consistently buggy. I contacted the dealer, they investigated the issue and concluded the brake controller is faulty. They cleared the brake controller error codes and updated the camera software, but the display is still buggy every time I connect the trailer. I have the buggy display only in camera mode, it looks ok in other menus. Waiting for the dealer to replace the brake controller, but I feel the camera issues will not be fixed this way. I checked all connections that I could access under the truck and they look ok. Did anybody else experience this issues? Any help or advice that I could use are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
