  1. If anyone is interested I replaced the chrome one on my 2022 duramax with a black one for personal preference. It is in like new condition. Maybe 500 miles on it before I swapped it out. What you see is what you get. $65 shipped
  2. I have my 2022 OEM factory fog lights available for sale. These were removed at about 500 miles and in like new condition. One of them has a tab on the back missing (top one on backside photo). I removed them when the truck was new so I don't exactly remember, but I think it was to help secure the wires. $150 firm paypal only
  3. I had the same experience. Even removing the tow hooks and supports didn't help much. That one screw on the top is a huge pain to get to. Little by little, I was able to rotate it and eventually remove it. In my case I installed the diode dynamics SS3 Max SAE fogs in amber. They are far less bulky than the factory housings. Getting to all the fasteners for installation is quite easy. I imagine the Baja Designs should be similar. I have installed about a dozen of them in the past (both squadron and S1) and they are very similar in size to the SS3.
  4. I replaced my factory fogs with the amber SS3 MAX kit from Diode Dynamics and am very happy with them. They put out a lot of light. Comparable to the factory low beam lights. They have a very sharp cutoff so they do not blind oncoming vehicles nor do they create a harsh reflection off road signs like off road lights do. In the past I have installed quite a few Baja Designs Squadron pro's, sports, as well as the S1. I am a huge fan of those and actually will be installing some as off road lights on my current truck at some point. For fog light application however I think DD makes a better product. The bezels and mounts they provide are very oem in appearance which I really like. Quality is top notch. The built in deutsch connector is a really nice feature. One thing to note about color is that the "whiter" the light is the harsher it is on the eyes. The amber is very easy on the eyes. Baja Designs uses a 5000k light when choosing white which is about perfect, but when it bounces back off of a highly reflective surface it is a bit harsh. For me, I would prefer 4000k for white, but no one offers that. In Diode Dynamics case, if choosing white they offer a 6000k which I could only imagine would be harsher. Aside from harshness I personally do not like anything above 5000k in something like a headlight. That being said, if you want the lights to truly perform in fog and/or dusty conditions amber is the only choice. Note, the photographs in the instructions that DD includes must be from a 1500 truck. On my HD the front frame to bumper attachment area is different than the photos show and one of the 3 fasteners on the factory fogs is a huge pain to remove because there is very little access to rotate the fastener. Once the factory fogs are removed the DD SS3's install very easily as they are not as bulky.
  5. I bought a motorad mgc591 and it works well. Engagement feels different than the stock one, but there are no codes indicating it's not sealing. There is also the mgc233kad however, those are keyed alike so everyone with that model cap uses the same key. The mgc591 uses different keys. That being said, it's not easy to make duplicates. You need to bring the cap and key to a good locksmith to find a compatible key blank. Motorad does not have any information on the keys other than they are made in Mexico and they will not sell blanks. The keys are thinner than any available here, but with the cap supplied to the locksmith I was able to get duplicates that work.
  6. I followed this video and it worked perfect:
