    Original poster is right on the function. Unplugging the seatbelt sensor tells the system the seatbelt is plugged in. All safety features will work as normal, minus the reminder chime sound. GM sells a seatbelt extender that in effect does the same thing, so they knew to make it this way. This works on the 2007 to 2013 Avalanche as well.
