  1. Where did you get the gears from? I am assuming the 4:10 gears fit in the front diff housing OK. I will be going with 4:10 if i do upgrade but i read somewhere if you went with a larger gear like a 4:56 on the older trucks they wouldn't fit in the front diff housing properly.I am OK with the way the truck runs now with 3:42 gears and 35's. I mean it could be better but its drivable. As for a tuner. I think I am going with diablo then I can get a custom tune later. Hopefully I can get the wife to buy it for me for Christmas lol...
  2. I ran 1.5 spacers all around on my truck before I lifted it and had do issues. As a matter of fact over 10k miles on 2 different trucks. Now just running them on the rear. Still no issues and no worries. These really dont hurt anything when properly installed. You will have some haters tell you not to use them but they are most likely going off a myth that these are unsafe.. I did a great deal of research before installing as I haul my kids in my ride and didn't want anything unsafe..
  3. So you changed gears? What gears did you use? Do you think it was worth it? I am also pretty sure the issues we are having are related to the diameter of the tires. I need to get a tuner, was looking at superchips because i have used them before but i also have been considering diablo and black bear. I like the idea of a custom tune but dont know if its worth the extra money.
  4. Well I had a chance to talk with the other 2 owners of 14 Silverado s with the zone 6.5. They are both still having some issues. By the way they describe it I would say theirs is worse than mine. We reset the steering sensor on both of them and verified proper alignment on one. The one person did tell me that he swapped back to his factory wheels and tires and the issue went completely away. This tells me the issue has something to do with tore diameter. None of us have done anything as far as a tune to calibrate the ebcm for the larger tires. Really am at a loss. There was nothing g wrong with any of them until after the lift installs. Also just food for thought. One of these guys had a 6.5 zone on a 2012 silverado and he claims he had zero issue on that truck...not sure what is causing this but I have full access to a gm MDI and gds2 which is the factory scanner for our trucks. Did the zone engineers have any input?
  5. I do get the traction control kicking in every once in a while. I didn't notice it at all for about the first week, but if i hit a slow speed turn too fast like in town somewhere it will kick in for a second. Also seems to be pretty consistant when pulling out of my work, wheels turned, pulling out from a stop to merge into traffic it will kick in for a second like my tires are spinning but they aren't... I am puzzled also. Mine is nowhere near as bad as the other 2 i have seen do this. It happens so little its almost a non issue but i would like to know what is causing it. I actually called Zone about it for a customers truck and zone said it could NOT be the lift since it complies with the federal mandated stability testing... My customer did tell me he put his stock wheels and tires back on and it didnt do it anymore. I have not tried that because like i said mine doesnt really happen enough to be a problem... As for alignment, i think that may have something to do with why it's worse on some trucks than others. I cut the recommended 5/8 off my outer tie rods and 3/8 off my inners and when i went to align it, my tie rods were bottomed out and couldnt get my toe in line. Had to pull it back apart and cut an additional 1/4 off each inner tie rod to properly set the toe. Camber and Toe specs are the same for factory and zone, zone does recommend a bit higher caster than factory. I think zone makes a good product and i have no regrets whatsoever about installing their lift, but it does seem like they may have an issue since there are multiple trucks with this lift having the same issue. Wonder if the bds has the same problem? Its basically the same lift design...

  7. Few before and after pics from my phone, will wash and post a build thread soon...
  8. Yeah I think I made the right choice it was just a little nerve wracking taking my new truck with 1000 miles on it and lifting it. But time will tell...still need to clean it up and take a few pics...
  9. Actually the install went pretty smooth. Took longer than I expected but I was working by myself. I did have the full use of my dealership service shop though so that was good. Only drove about 30 miles so far but no issues except my wife complaining about having to climb up in it lol... The lift is nice I am happy so far. Although I think the 6.5 might be overkill.
  10. Well I'm installing the zone 6.5 inch Lift up tonight. I hope I don't have this issue. I guess I will find out!
  11. Awesome looking truck Steve! What lift is that? What is your wheel offset? 35" tires? Did u have to remove the rear forward mudflaps or just do it for looks?
  12. Yeah I am gonna go for it. No point in going backwards. Glad to hear you are not experiencing any issues! I don't use the bumper steps as it sets so that's not an issue. Pics of your truck posted anywhere?
  13. Yeah at this point i would be stupid to downsize seeing how i already have the wheels i wanted with the 35's already mounted and waiting. I just don't want any issues. My 13 had a 2 inch level and i though i would be happy with that but i eventually wanted to go big. Thats why i bough all the stuff to lift it. Too bad i didnt wait a month before i bought the lift or i could have bought it for my new truck, lol... Oh well atleast my wheels and tires will work, just need the lift... Coming Soon. Let me know when you get yours fixed,i will feel alot better about it, lol...
  14. The only way I know to do it is with gm's GDS using a gm MDI scanner. It will definitely have to be done using a scan tool. If the alignment shop didn't have the ability to do so. I'm sure that's ur problem.
