  1. So I am swapping in a set of air conditioned seats from a 2010 Suburban (needed some wiring diagrams) in to my 08 LTZ. Determined that GM in their obsessive cheapness decided to make two different wire harnesses for heated vs air conditioned seats with the AC seat harness having 6 less 3 ft 18 gauge wires. Oh the savings! Anyway, a quick trip to the junkyard solved that issue. Now that I have all the wires I have an issue with the cool button not working. All the heat buttons work correctly and show up on my scanner (Foxwell NT680) as communicating with the memory module which controls the commands to the climate control seat module, but the cool button does not. I am wondering if this is programming issue between the mem seat module and the truck. The seats, door switches, and modules all came out of the Suburban so they all worked together before, but of course my LTZ did not have cooled seats from the factory. Wondering if I have a bad module or if it needs to be programmed by a Tech 2 or other GM programmer. Most interested to hear from people with either firsthand knowledge or ideally GM techs who could take a look at their trucks and let me know the best route to move forward. I am considering swapping in a different mem seat module to see if that is the issue with communication. Picture for attention - I had the centers recovered in Alcantara from Relicate.
  2. So I have the common airbag sensor fault, swapped left and right and confirmed bad sensor as the fault followed the sensor. I have the 25896408 sensors. So the strange part is that my sensors do not have the keyed slots on the inside of the sensor like all the ones I see available on the internet, mine have nothing in the female socket. The problem of course is my plugs will not go in to the keyed sensors (I obtained several at the junkyard to try). Two of my junkyard sensors are similar, same pn on the label, but different plug configuration. Unfortunately I do not have a 25896408 with the correct plug configuration and have not seen any online with the correct one. Local Advance was similar to all the ones I see online as well. Anyone else run in to this? Is there a solution other than replacing the plugs?
  3. Transmission finally gave up at 175k, need a reman. Recommendations? Stock 08 with 4l70 4x4.
  4. Hey guys, new to me truck, 175k. Had truck shipped to me from GA, knew it had some issues. Backed it off the trailer. Drove it up to advance and had the codes read. P0641 (5v reference) along with crank position sensor code, Oil pressure sensor code, fuel tank code, two tpms sensors, airbag fault, and occasional stabilitrak fault. Sat in the yard a couple days while I cleaned the interior (smelled too bad to really drive it). Looked up the 0641 code and realized I probably had a wired rubbed through so decided to move to where I could get under it and inspect. Charged the battery overnight. Got in it, backed up up, pulled it forward round the yard and it tried to get stuck. Shifted it in to 4wd and it did not want to move. Shifted it back in to 2wd and finally got it back up on the pavement. It spun a little in the grass before the gov lock kicked in and got it up on the pavement. Tried to back up and now it goes forward in rev and neutral. I would not think that little bit of drivng would have welded the clutches but have not seen any other explanation? What should I start with checking? BTW, pretty expert mechanic but it has been a few years since I had a Chevy truck, my last one was an 88 4x4. Any recommendations appreciated.
  5. Hey Guys, new to forum and it has been a few years since I have had a Chevy Truck. Had a 78 El Camino in the 80's, a string of 88 Ext. Cabs in the 90s, and an 06 Duramax CC 4x4 prior to this 08 Avi that is new to me. She is an LTZ with 175k on her. A little dirty, a little neglected, but overall in good shape. Everything seems to work, but a few things to fix. A P0336 CPS code, P0523 oil pressure sensor code, P0463 fuel level sensor code, and a P0641 ref voltage code. Two TPMS sensor codes, a service airbag warning light, and a stabilitrak/traction control warning light. I will start researching each of these and where needed start a separate thread. My first steps will be to address the faulty sensors and then go from there.
