I'm working on adding factory OEM parking assist to my '22 GMC 2500HD; it wasn't ordered with it. I have all the parts except for the center stack dash parking assist switch; my current configuration is shown. I could add the park assist switch to the stack on the left 1/3 if I were to move the existing descent control switch over to the right third switch. I'd just have to order two new switches: 86827766 (bed outlet & descent control) & 86827777 (blank & park assist). Of all the possible stack switch feature options, the descent control is the only option that can be located in either the left or right 1/3 switches; all the other options (except the center switch options) are confined to either a left or right location. The park assist option must be located in the left 1/3 switch location. GM doesn't make a stack switch that includes the park assist and descent control in the same 1/3 switch configuration for the 2500HD. I'm wondering if I install the new 7766 switch that moves descent control to the right side 1/3 switch, would the truck logic detect the new location, or if I'm looking at some reprogramming? It appears they use the same harness plug for each 1/3 switch, but unique to the side; i.e. the harness plug for any of the left 1/3 switches is the same; all that changes is the pin configuration on the back of each stack switch. So in order for the logic to follow the switch relocation, the right & left side switch harnesses would have to have common some common wires for the descent control. That's what I'm unable to determine on any of the documentation. So far, the dealership has been cool to this project. This is a challenging undertaking and I've only seen a couple projects that have come close to attempting this. I might be going down a deep hole, but am really driven to try accomplishing it. I’m in the process of researching this very same project for my 2022 GMC 2500HD. It was not ordered with park assist. I’m starting to acquire the parts; have replaced the bumper and rear harness with a sensor-equipped wiring. It appears the frame harness has all the wiring going to the front end; have not looked at the front end termination yet (or even found it). One of my biggest challenges is going is retrofitting the center stack dash switches to accommodate a park assist button. The nine switches are arranged in sets of three switch modules: left, center, and right. Park assist is always on the left third of the three modules. My truck now has a descent control button and two blanks in the left switch. I’ve acquired two other switch modules (one with park assist and the auto start/stop buttons; one with just the descent crtl ) and am hoping to make one switch from two that will contain the descent crtl and park assist buttons; the third will be blank. I will have to add pins to the switch module. I’ve not yet looked at the 371L plug behind the left module, but have the pin configuration. I’m hoping it is wired for all the possible buttons in the left switch, so I’ll just have to add pins to the module accordingly. Again, this is going to be a challenge; I just picked up the switch modules yesterday and have not yet attempted to disassemble them. I’ve watched the referenced videos in this chat; great reference, as is this chat. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I see no replies to your post. I too am studying how to add factory park assist to my '22 2500HD. Have all the parts except the stack switch, and I can't find a configuration that works. The other parts are the sensors, harness, and module. I'll likely have to make a harness from the bumper to the cab; possibly from the cab to the front dash depending if GM put a harness there for the option (doubtful). The center stack has three sets of 3 switches/blanks including the hazard switch. The switches appear to be specifically designed for a left, center, or right side mounting. There's a single plug connection for each of the three switch sets, and they are offset, so they only fit into one area of the mounting plate (left, center, right). The park assist switch is always on the left side of the hazard switch. I'm studying if I can make a new multi-function switch out of two that would contain the park assist switch to replace the existing switch which only has the descent ctrl switch. I'm thinking this isn't going to be easy; will require some re-pinning of the connector(s). If I get that far, the next step will be getting the module programmed; local dealer already said they won't do it. If all else fails, I'll be looking for a good aftermarket solution. Appreciate anyone else's insight(s).
