They are actually taking your kit back? I'm sure they know about the headlight covers, and I'm rather upset they don't mention it on their site. Keep me posted as to what you end up doing.

I ordered 2 new covers from GM Parts Direct. Not cheap for what they are. After shipping, the total was like $56 for the pair. Part Number: 23215569

Yup it's a total let down. I was super aggravated over it and luckily I only drilled one cover. I ended up keeping the kit but I need to figure out what to do with it. I do have 2 spare covers to play around with so maybe in the future I will try again.

That is correct. At least on my truck, I would have needed to extend out the covers. I scrapped the project until I can figure out what to do with the covers.

Correct, only one factory headlight plug is used to trigger the relay. The other you can tuck somewhere in the housing. By the way, do you have projector and housings or reflector housings? Also, what have you done with the headlight covers? Did you somehow extend them out because when I attempted to put the cover on, there wasn't enough room with the HID bulb and plug for the cover to go back on.

You don't have the Duramax in your truck by what your sig says. Right behind the passenger side light is the massive airbox which butts up directly behind the headlight cover. But what really got me heated was that the factory headlight cap needs to be butchered in order for it to twist lock back on and the HID bulb and plug is too long for the factory cap to go back on. Like I mentioned, I might revisit this at a later time when I have more patience and it's not so damn hot outside. I do have some experience in HID retrofits but there is just no room, nor is it just "plug and play" with the Silverado Spec kit. Did a E46 retrofit in my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee I had 15 years ago. Lots of sanding and polishing to make the factory jeep lens crystal clear.

I was attempting to install the Silverado Spec kit in my 2015 2500HD Duramax and ended up ripping everything out. I got too frustrated with the lack of room from the back of Hid bulb and the headlight cover, lack of room for the ballast, and the lack of room for the igniters. Unfortunately, I am going to stick with stock. Luckily I only boogerd upon headlight cover by drilling a 7/8" hole in it. Patched up the hole with plastic weld and silicone. Who know, I might get ambitious down the road and try again, but for know it's on permanent hiatus. Oh well, $170 down the drain.
