    I'm going to have to try this. May be a stupid question, but is there any chance of the plastic melting over time? I'd hate for it to disintegrate into a sticky mess after a year. Wouldn't be much different than the dealer slapping grease all over it though, I'd suppose.

    Hate to restart up an old thread, but my 2015 Sierra just started doing this the past two weeks or so. 6700 miles on it. Brought it to the dealership today, they torqued the leaf springs and claimed the noise was normal. Unfortunately it didn't solve anything at all...

    I thought the sound was similar in both trucks, could be something different however.

    My 2015 Sierra has this exact same sound. I'm pretty sure my 2010 Silverado did too.

    Noticed this on my '15 too. Much different turnover than my 2010. This one has that distinct whine/sharp turnover and sometimes cycles quite a few times before the engine starts. Especially in cold weather or if it's been sitting for more than a day.

    Just curious as what your guys' thoughts are on how often you change the transmission fluid. I've always heard do it often or never do it at all. How often do you folks change yours? Every 30k? 50k? 100k? I'm not 100%, but I thought the GM maintenance schedule recommends 50k. I know it also depends how much you tow, etc. Just wondering about overall longevity.
