  1. You're correct, appears to only be present when the vehicle has warmed up. I bet the new ones in the lot don't do that. So how can they keep saying it's normal! Wtf
  2. You are correct.. sounds like wifes Singer and juki serger!
  3. I call bs, on how they sound. Just bad engineering! It doesn't have to become a problem for it to be bad, it's bad by design. For example, my has been coming on pretty loudly - NOT ON COLD days, but on warm days or during longer drivers, it doesn't come on right away after the vehicle has been started so you know it has something to do with the engine being warm/hot etc. On a 90 degree day you can hear it pretty loudly when putting foot on the accelerator. I'm sure if you go into a dealership and test drove a brand new one it will not sound like that. If this is true that they just sound like this then it would be making the noise every time, why would it only come on during certain times/condition? I know there is no FIX for this, GM's BS regarding it being normal is a cop out way of saying we don't give a rats about it cause it's not going to kill anyone.
  4. You can always go with a larger gauge wire to be safe, you can't go the other way around, using small gauge, it could melt, burn, etc etc. You can actually home electrical wiring if you want... it just doesn't look as nice.
  5. so whose going to driving around town with High beams on anyways and if people did, those idiots don't get tickets for that. I see plenty who doesn't give a hoot Seriously.. LOL even if fogs were on with high beams that reserved for rural and country driving (off road). The same as if you were to use your flood lights, there ain't nothing illegal about that.
  6. Ebay?? here's a seller from Canada https://www.ebay.com/itm/FR602-Fast-Recovery-Rectifier-100V-6A-NOS-Qty-5/142900472067?hash=item2145882903%3Ag%3A2DoAAOSwqfNXjjCT&_sacat=0&_nkw=6a%2C+100v+diode&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313
  7. if you use fuse tap, it should protect you from an overload. Which is why it's better than jumping straight with a cable.
  8. i use these for my dashcams on all my vehicles.
  9. a space shuttle costs about $450 million and blows up too in mid-flight.. I hear a light clunk every-now and then but doesn't bother me too much. Is this a crew or ext cab, are you lead footed or light footed does that even make any difference? I have an ext cab and i'm at 24k at the moment. It heard it early on as few as 100 miles but doesn't happen much. To be honest, everything MAN MADE has issues. btw, 1% of half a million trucks sold by GM is about 5,000 vehicles.
  10. Can you give more details on the diode? Where did you get it from, Radio Shack no longer in biz... Amazon? Ebay? Edit: Also, does the fog light icon light up in the dash as if you pushed the button? Thanks.
  11. Installed D5S-5K-45w Hylux HID from DistantExtreme.com. The ballast for the 45Watt has extra wiring that was a pain to try to figure out how to install it, but the output is worth it IMO. Also changed out the Air filter with ACDelco A3181C Professional Air Filter while I was in there. screenshot provided for comparison (may not be 100% accurate but good enough)
