  1. Do you folks have success with the Nox-Rust for touching up spots? I'm proud of my '15 frame, it looks great after 2 VT winters. (My 2010 frame was completely peeling and rusting all over by 30k miles) The only trouble spots are from where the dealership puts it on the lift. I'm thinking about spot sanding the rust and either spraying oil, chassis saver, or getting some Nox-Rust. Wonder what the best option is?
  2. Curious if you have pictures of your truck with the 5100s at 1.25". Im looking to do the same
  3. I was intrigued by this thread and did some poking around with my Sierra. Lots of flex coming from the plastic bracket that the pedal mounts to (red arrow). I couldn't find anything around the house to shim it with due to the tight area. I'm planning on getting some dense rubber, like a chunk of PVC pipe coupling, and wedging it behind the plastic bracket. (yellow arrows)
  4. I ended up putting 1 large silica bag taped in each headlight under the projector. I had moisture in the passenger side lamp for over 2 weeks. They were fairly large water droplets that were dripping down to the bottom of the headlight. The moisture "strip" was at the bottom of the light where the Sierra SLT LED strip is. 2 days later, headlight is completely dry. Highly recommended if anyone needs a solution.
  5. I noticed this on my 2015 for the second time yesterday. It's happened before and after my HID upgrade. Aside from it being annoying, is there really any harm caused by condensation inside the headlight?
  6. My 2015 GMC did this from day 1 when I purchased it in the winter. Noticed it on wet/cold days. Dealership service manager was unaware of the issue. Hasn't done it all summer so we'll see once it gets cold. There's no visible leaks, cracks, etc for mine. I think it's due to the wide open grille style of the trucks, but it's rather annoying. I was on the highway in the sleet/snow getting road mist from behind a dump truck and when I exited and stopped it looked like my truck was overheating.
  7. I'm going to have to try this. May be a stupid question, but is there any chance of the plastic melting over time? I'd hate for it to disintegrate into a sticky mess after a year. Wouldn't be much different than the dealer slapping grease all over it though, I'd suppose.
  8. Hate to restart up an old thread, but my 2015 Sierra just started doing this the past two weeks or so. 6700 miles on it. Brought it to the dealership today, they torqued the leaf springs and claimed the noise was normal. Unfortunately it didn't solve anything at all...
  9. I thought the sound was similar in both trucks, could be something different however.
  10. My 2015 Sierra has this exact same sound. I'm pretty sure my 2010 Silverado did too.
  11. Noticed this on my '15 too. Much different turnover than my 2010. This one has that distinct whine/sharp turnover and sometimes cycles quite a few times before the engine starts. Especially in cold weather or if it's been sitting for more than a day.
  12. Just curious as what your guys' thoughts are on how often you change the transmission fluid. I've always heard do it often or never do it at all. How often do you folks change yours? Every 30k? 50k? 100k? I'm not 100%, but I thought the GM maintenance schedule recommends 50k. I know it also depends how much you tow, etc. Just wondering about overall longevity.
