  1. I'm very suspicious of Mike's comment. When I called a second dealership to discuss the vibration in my steering wheel he said he was happy to take a look but I "probably wasn't going to like what he was going to tell me". Just like the previous dealer he went on to say all/most of the trucks on their lot have similar problems. Maybe the northeast/NY got a bad batch of trucks? I wanted to enjoy this truck. Beautiful interior, nice looks, but every time I reach 50-60 mph I'm reminded of how poor the vehicle drives......which was never the case with my 2008 or 2003 Silverado. If it was the tires wouldn't the vibration change a little after the rebalance? Wouldn't the frequency or speed at which the vibration occurs change slightly just due to the different weighting and new placement of the bad tire? Vibration was exactly the same in every way after the rebalance. If GM had any confidence in its product they'd be all over this, assisting their loyal customers. Instead they just make sure you have the names of other dealerships in the area, which is useless.
  2. Run like hell from this truck, its not the tires. Vibration is exactly the same after rebalance. Problem is with the engine or transmission. Transmission is sloppy and GM won't help you. Had high hopes when I bought the truck, spent my savings, and all I bought was a nightmare.
  3. Silver Spaceship you continue to describe the same problem I'm experiencing. Thank you for going through the expensive and time consuming process of buying new tires only to be back at square one. My steering wheel vibrates to the point where my hand goes numb after 20 minutes. Its not the tires. I had them rebalanced and if it was the problem rebalancing would have at least slightly changed the speed or type of vibration. I continue to experience the same vibration at the exact same highway speeds 50-60. Where's GM in all of this? The dealers are GM's representatives and should be doing everything possible to resolve this problem and ensure customer satisfaction. I'll have to drive 35-40 miles one way to find another dealer to help me with this problem, with no guarantee they'll fix the problem. I didn't spend $33,000 to go out and buy another set of tires. GM should be working with the customer and dealership to diagnose and fix the problem. Dealership here has 50+ new Silverados on their lot. I will not go quietly.
  4. Notified the dealership I was experiencing a vibration in the steering wheel of my 2014 Silverado. Had 750 miles on it. Guy sweeping the floors balanced the tires. Did nothing to fix the problem. After driving it another 700 miles I brought it back. They kept it for 2 days - but the vehicle never moved from the spot where I parked it until a few hours before picking it up. The cashier/mechanic said it drove like the other 2014s on the lot. This is my 3rd Silverado purchased new. None ever drove like this one. Guy said sometimes you just have to live with "quirks". Steering is solid as a rock up to about 50 then has a vibration up to about 60 mph. Ruins the driving experience. Is most apparent when coasting or applying light amount of power- but persists under all driving conditions. I'm guessing its an adjustment that needs to be made to the engine or transmission (not tires) but the dealership doesn't have the technical expertise to diagnose and/or just doesn't care. A few times I've experienced a loss of power for an instant, hear a rattle then everything is normal again. The kind of problem you can't produce on demand for a mechanic. Had high hopes for this truck given all the promo and price paid but will never buy another GM vehicle if this doesn't get resolved. Expressed my dissatisfaction on GM survey - got a call, registered the compliant, nothing after that. I guess it was just a bunch of BS about customer satisfaction.
  5. I'm experiencing the same problem w/ my 2014 silverado z71 double cab. Mechanic felt it too. Showed your post and ChevyTech77's suggested fixes to the dealership. Rebalancing the tires didn't fix the problem. It's a subtle vibration I get consistently at 50-55 through the steering wheel. Truck with 750 miles on it shouldn't do this. Dealer said they would contact me when/if any bulletins are issued by GM with a fix.
