  1. I've just taken a 2400 mile trip from Houston, Texas to Breckenridge, Colorado and back. My maximum speed was 70 mph. My overall fuel economy (hand calculated) was 20.14 mpg (My poorest tank average was 17.9; my best was 22.45). I used premium fuel with octane ratings between 90 and 93 (locations have different ratings for premium fuel). My truck's starting mileage was slightly over 15,000 miles. I now have two long trip averages for the truck. Empty, at 70 mph, slightly better than 20 mpg. Pulling my 6,100 lb trailer on a 6,700 mile trip, 11.6 mpg overall average. My vehicle specifics are: 2014 Silverado LTZ, 6.2 / Max Tow w/Trailer Mirrors. Good luck in your travels.
  2. This Message deals with Fuel Mileage while Towing. I just got back from a 6,800 mile trip from Houston, Tx through Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico and then back home. I was towing a 6,000 lb travel trailer, and had about a 1,000 lbs of people, dogs, and equipment in the truck. I consistently maintained a speed of 60 mph. I used premium fuel through out the trip, but the octane ratings ran from 93 in the Houston area to a low 90 octane in parts of the Northwest. My average fuel price per gallon ended up at $3.93 and my average, hand calculated fuel economy was 11.69. As others have mentioned, the DIC is off (higher) by 4.21%. My truck is a '14 Silverado CCSB (standard bed), 6.2L/Max Tow w/Tow Mirrors. I mostly ran with cruise control on, and Trailer Towing OFF. I hope the information helps you. Thanks.
  3. I just took a 2,600 mile trip from Houston to Seattle towing a 6,500 lb travel trailer. My 6.2 / Max Tow silverado averaged 11.2 mpg @ 60 mph. I'll post the return leg later. Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
  4. For any of you "old guys" just looking for stock fuel mileage on a 6.2L/Max Tow package, I took my 5,000 mile Silverado LTZ 4-Wheel drive on a 500 mile round trip (Houston-San Antonio) this weekend. I cruised at 68-70 mph and the ending, hand calculated numbers were 20.87 mpg going and 19.9 on the return half of the trip. For an unrelated side note, pulling a 6,000 lb 26 ft travel trailer at 60 mph, is getting me approx 11 mpg. No problems to date. Good luck with your vehicles.
  5. i have a retrax one. For about two weeks. So far so good no complaints. Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
  6. Well, I have had my LTZ 6.2L/Max Trailer/Tow Mirrors for about 5 days and have put almost 800 miles on it. All the miles have been, for the most part, highway, and on regular fuel. As you can tell by the picture, it is averaging in excess of 17.5 mpg (hand calculations as well as DIC). Not bad, and its not even broke in yet. No towing numbers yet.
