  1. My experience is the same. I had the update done and it's still no where near the radio quality of my old nissan frontier. My biggest complaint is the normal FM sound quality. It sounds slightly better than it did before the update but not a huge change like others have said. The only thing that I really notice as a difference is the volume doesn't drop as much as it used to when the HD cuts out. I just wonder why GM released an update that went through the trouble of changing hardware when it really didn't help much at all. Looks like were just not going to get decent radio out of this truck. It's a shame because other than the radio I really like the truck.
  2. I called to set up getting this update along with an oil change/inspection/recall. I asked about this radio update and referenced PI1288a and asked to make sure that they would have the module to replace. I was told that they would apply an software updates but would not order any parts without having the truck there first. After hearing about PI1288a I finally had some hope of getting decent radio quality in my truck but looks like I'm in for a long struggle and mostly likely a "works as designed". Have any others had luck referencing PI1288a and getting the updated module without a struggle or multiple appointments?
  3. I have had one dent on the driver side of mine that really bothers me. I'm not sure the exact build date but it is early, has the power slider. I noticed it before I ever had anything in the bed. I really don't see how anything could have hit it there and there aren't any scuff marks or paint scratches.
