Shake or Vibration Issues

Bogeypro don't be angry that your stuck with your problem riddled GM truck. You could also buy Ford and be happy. I since so much hostility in you, oh its probably because your a Cowboy's fan. He was just giving his honest opinion on how happy he is with is new truck. I'm sure I'll be just as happy now. Go Seahawks, we all can't be winners, we need some loosers to balance out. BOGEYPRO has that covered for us. -

I'm getting the 5.0 also. How do you like the motor power wise compared to your 5.3? I will say the Ford has a few less options that I'm going to miss, like the led interior lighting, but I can change that out easily and inexpensive. I'm glad to hear your happy with the Ford. -

I am getting my vibration problem taken care of tomorrow, I am trading my GMC Sierra for a 2014 Ford F150. I will never own another GM product for as long as I live. The only reason I bought this truck is because they lured me in with a voucher for some issues that were out of warranty on my 2007 Silverado. I figured 7 years later I wild get an awesome product, boy was I wrong. The GM engineer hooked up to my truck to the vibration analyzer and said everything is within allowable tolerance and once he said that no dealer will touch my truck with any issue that is related to vibration. GM won't authorize any more repairs for this problem. GM Customer service wont even call me back. The service manager at Carr GMC told me to trade my truck in for another brand or by a 3/4 ton because of this issue. I am fortunate I have more money then time right now so it's time to cut my losses and move on. I paid $45,000 for my truck and I am getting $38,500 for it now with 10,500 miles on it. It's a very expensive lesson but one I willing to take and never by another GM product. Good luck with your trucks I hope you get them fixed. -

I am in the same exact situation. I haven't contacted the BBB yet because I was hoping GM or my dealer would step up. The engineer said everything is operating within specs and once he said that basically no one would help any further. The dealership said the can't work on it anymore for this issue because GM wont pay for it and GM said they won't help may with trade assistance at all. I cant even take it to another dealer because it is in the system now for this issue. So basically as long as I own my truck and anything that has to do with vibration I am screwed. The service manager told me I should trade the truck for another brand or a 3/4 ton GM truck because these issues are inherent to the 1500 model. I was at the Ford dealer yesterday and have a deal worked out on a F150 but I just don't like it as much as my Sierra and it will cost me $5,000 to get out of mine and into a new ford. I think GM's solution to the problem is setting a set of specs wide enough to state all the trucks with issue are within spec because they just need to cut their losses somewhere with all the issues they are having right now. If they lose a few customers in the process they are okay with it. I'm not sure if it's worth my time and energy to proceed any further and that's what the are banking on. It really sucks because I love everything else about the truck. -

I have a GM engineer coming out on December 10th to diagnose my shudder from launch when towing and now I have developed the dreaded random vibration . I almost traded it in today on a 2014 F150 but I just couldn't take a $4,000 hit yet. My dealer has been good so I am giving it one last shot to make it right. If they don't get my problems fixed I will go the buy back route. -

So time for an update. My truck has a shudder/vibration when taking off from a stop when towing. My dealership has been great but it's still not fixed. They first fixed a loose bolt inside the transmission that had something to do with pump pressure, that didn't fix it. Next the put a 2 degree shim between me axle housing and the leaf springs to correct improper pinion angle, and that didn't work. when the mechanic went to order the part that the GM engineer recommended the part was discontinued so they found another source for the shim. Now they are waiting for the GM engineer to fly out hear and take a look at it. Like I said the dealer has been great about addressing the issue but I am getting tired of hooking up my travel trailer and hauling it in there to road test it each time. When the engineer gets here I am dropping my truck and travel trailer off and not taking it back until the fix the issue or give me a new truck. I talked with the sales manager about a buy back if we don't get it resolved and he said he will help me any way he can. He told me they have 12 vehicles on their lot that GM wont let them sale because of known issues with no fixes to the problem, that's scary! I have contacted GM directly but they haven't really done anything yet but say they will send it up the ladder. -

So my truck shudders during acceleration when towing. The dealer did a fix in the transmission pump bolt that was loose, that didn't fix it. Now the engineers are telling him that he needs to try a two degree shim between the leaf springs and the axle. He was told that some of the trucks had the leaf springs welded wrong which created the wrong angle on the rear-end. He took measurements from mine and a 2015 and sure enough my truck is off. They can shim all the way up to four degree according to GM. If that doesn't fix it the will try the next random fix. My feeling is they should be buying my truck back if my entire rear-end is welded on wrong. -

So my truck only shudders or vibrates when I tow my travel trailer. It does it when you first take off and put a load on the truck. I took it on with my trailer hooked up and the technician rode with me and said oh yeah that not supposed to do that, that's bad. It was in last week for two days to repair a loose bolt inside the transmission that has something to do with tranny pump pressure. It's what GM recommended to try first. It did have the service bulletin issue so I guess I am glad the repaired that issue but it still didn't fix the shudder that happens under hard acceleration while towing a load. So now it's going back in to try the next option the throw at it. I am going to give them three chances and then it's lemon law buy back time for me. The truck is great except for this issue. Well other then the recalls that have already been addressed with so far. So far I am not to impressed that my $53,000 with less then 10,000 miles has been in the shop 4 times. -

I don't have a whining noise yet. I wouldn't notice if I didn't pull my travel trailer. It is very slight during everyday driving. -

So the tech said that my transmission has a technician bulletin out on it to repair something with the internal pump pressure that causes a shutter under hard acceleration. He is ordering the parts and it will go in next week for repair. -

So the technician said there is defiantly an issue and he is talking to GM engineers before proceeding. He thinks it has something to do with axle wrap, the driveline or the rear end. It only shakes when I have a load on it and accelerate hard through first and second gear. -

My 2014 GMC Sierra SLT shakes/vibrates when I tow my travel trailer. It has done it since new when I took it out with only 150 miles on the truck. If I ease into the throttle you don't notice it but if your start from a dead stop and hammer the throttle it will shake through the firs few gears. Other then that issue I don't notice a shake any other time. I am hooking up my 27' travel trailer in the morning and have an appointment with my dealer to check it out. It is definitely something related to the power train. If I never towed I wouldn't have know about the issue. I let you know what they say. -

I don't have a shake at any speed but I towed my travel trailer for the first time yesterday and noticed under hard acceleration on hills or when staking off from a stop when I put the peddle to the floor there is a vibration. It only does it at high rpms when I am working the motor hard. It doesn't do it with out the trailer under any circumstances though. It's almost like I am working the motor to hard or something. The truck only has 400 miles on it and my travel trailer weighs 5,500 pounds. I was driving and towing with a duramax before so maybe I am just not used to the way the gas motor tows, but it sure doesn't seam very smooth running when it does it. Does this sound like an issue I should take to the dealer? I would need to have my travel trailer hooked up to demonstrate the issue. Also my steering wheel is not centered properly but the said give it a few thousand miles for all the suspension components to settle in. The alignment is straight just the offset steering wheel, it's driving me nuts.
