  1. I was a 2021 tb 6.2 owner till about 3 weeks ago, had the best nights sleep the day I put the 6.6 gasser 2500 in my driveway
  2. $300 or offer
  3. Farm use it’s allowed, but yeah. I chuckled at that
  4. New York just finally let us put passenger plates on hd trucks, before the law was 5500lbs and under vehicle weight got passenger plates 5501lbs and over got mandatory commercial, and under 5500 if business purpose was commercial plates… for yearsssss we have said “but I’m not a business it’s a personal use truck” and the dmv flipped the bird to us, now we can get a “modified exception” and with a weight slip (or mso) get passenger plates if we meet certain criteria’s (personal/non business use, it has a camper in it, or has seats and belts mounted in the bed)
  5. That stack at somerset just got imploded a month or so ago, I’m about 6 miles as the bird flys from where it was
  6. Yeah. All the cars pretty much have plate scanners and they know before they even stop you it’s expired. But here we treat all this stuff as serious criminal stuff, but actual criminals are given a slap on the hand and back on the street within an hour with an appearance ticket
  7. Inside the windshield, which makes it fun to replace the reg every 2 years, and the inspections are yearly here. And don’t even think about tinting windows in the PRNY, that’s a huge no-no… I hate this state
  8. I bought the mud flaps with the points I had from buying the truck, the shorty ones that are stock don’t stop much, and the aftermarket don’t look the best, these at least use the factory mount holes and look decent (the half ton trucks oe ones look dumb, it’s weird how it’s the same base body shape and they don’t look similar) another pet peeve of mine is the registration and inspection junk we have to put in the window also. It’s modern times we don’t need the stupid stickers in the windows
  9. New York State is deyocks about having two plates, they won’t think twice about writing out a ticket for only having a rear plate on a vehicle
  10. And it’s home
  11. Quick question, and not sure if this is even the right sub section for it? But wanting to grab a scan-tool. Don’t need the most “pro-level” tool, but enough to read codes and get into the oem side menu to view various modules for codes. Also bonus points if it works on a Toyota car also (I have a chr I use as a work ride to save on gas and wear on the truck) now I know it’s the new global b system on my new truck. So is there suggestions of a reasonable one? Doesn’t need to have a Bluetooth dongle either. There’s like 10 different ones and I have no clue to what’s a good one or a waste. thanks guys
  12. My trailer flaps I mount to the hitch are the “rock tamers” brand, and have had them since 2010/2011, they have been used across many trucks and likely at some point I’ll have to get a new set as age and modifications are adding up. I’m hoping the exhaust doesn’t wreck them, I got away with the rear exit on my current trail boss luckily, even in 100f weather pulling in hills, but it’ll be interesting to see how this works, when I had my 2012 Chevy 3500, I actually cut the exhaust on the truck and put a turn out to blow it out behind the rear tire. I’d prefer to not to that this time around though.
  13. Tug hill is about 3-3 1/2 hrs one way depending on the weather and how much of a hurry I’m in. I tend to stay on the north side of the hill in lowville there’s a nice motel right on the trail and right on one of the main roads. if I’m riding locally. I usually go to the byrncliff golf course and unload there at the groomer barn, very rarely do I ride up my way as there’s rarely snow worth trashing my sleds on. basil is “ok” on service. The sales side I hate, lots of Tom foolery, I’m getting my truck out of west herr of Hamburg on Saturday (got all my loan stuff and insurance set, I just don’t have time to grab it till the weekend, and the sales guy is off Friday) i use to work in Lancaster, but I’m about 3 miles from Lake Ontario in a tiny town (Newfane)
  14. Still available, any offers?
  15. That cover is the cheapest option that’s all self contained, and takes about 2 minutes to install or remove, which makes it nice when you need the full bed to load stuff like a sled. My dad use to buy the “undercover” tops and they were like $800 back in the late 00’s up to around 2012? I had it on one truck and it was nearly impossible to take it on and off alone without destroying the side of the truck or having a hernia by the time you were done. this truck should have the same rubber weather tech style floor mats, and all I’m buying otherwise is the Chevy molded mud flaps and rear wheelhouse liner. It has the under seat storage already like mine which is where I toss a basic drop, hitch pin and some straps. And typically I can slide a small socket set under the driver seat and have mostly what I need with me. The spray in liner is good enough for me also and usually stops stuff from completely flying to the front of the bed when I stop, I have had bed mats in previous trucks that weren’t spray linered which was ok, but also let a bunch of dust and crap accumulate over time. This I’ll just take a hose every now and again and blast the bed out and leave the tailgate down in the driveway and let it dry out
  16. Just a cheapo tri-fold from “gator”. It had spring clips that hold it down to the bed rails and the rear rubber gasket is enough friction to stop the tailgate from dropping https://realtruck.com/p/gator-sfx-tri-fold-tonneau-cover/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD2KksAOhHLgpAp6gmak3i352nh7M&gclid=CjwKCAjw47i_BhBTEiwAaJfPppvtp_yhtML38Fu8BwvOUDy6D7PMM6iWnRgnwQ-ft4NTU2raYA-0xhoCDuQQAvD_BwE
  17. Yeah electric start with an agm battery and 0w-20 oil iirc and no grill shutters on the new truck, my 6.2 has the grill shutters on it, and yeah, no winter front or cardboard on that avalanche back then, he thought about shoving some in there but it wasn’t an easy feat and being so cold he said f it and turned the heated seats up to high lol i know this truck will take longer to heat up with having the cast iron block over the alum block, but I don’t daily my truck in the winter, so the heated seat will work enough till the engine temp gets up.
  18. Yeah it was a cold trip, but my dad couldn’t move his vacation, and I was in high school at the time and working around presidents week which I had off like 2 of the 5 days we were there for school. We had Yamaha 4 stroke sleds that were carbed and i didn’t think they would start, but they did, it shocked all the two stroke guys lol, but also back then. Forecasting wasn’t showing it as cold and I didn’t have much for internet and no smartphone apps to find multiple forecasts for areas. I was going off the weather network and all. no idea on the oil pressure on the truck. I just know it took like an hour of it running to get any temperature in the truck lol
  19. Yeah. That’s cold. I’ve been in -45 before in Sudbury Ontario on a sled trip wayyyyy back in 2006, my dad had a Chevy avalanche 5.3 at the time, and it wasn’t happy starting when we went to leave for home at the end of the trip lol and definitely want to figure out the settings for the tailgate, I’ll have a tonneau cover on it also. So even like my truck, I can hit the button but the cover doesn’t let it drop down on its own which is nice
  20. I’m in the Buffalo/niagara region, I can look at Toronto most nights on my way home from work going down the Niagara escarpment, I’m pretty sure I recognize your username from Dootalk, lol (if you are a pew’er I’m skidoorevxp on there, but haven’t been really on Dootalk a ton as of late, busy and winters sucking the last few, and then my dads cancer stuff this year wiped out going anywhere) we have at least double if not triple the amount of Chevy dealers over gmc, and the few gmc dealers we have with in reason I wouldn’t shop at, they are shady and love to play games with how they show their pricing and trade stuff, or just don’t deal period. Pontiac was decently popular around here, and still see them around. Some of my favorite cars were made by them. Was sad when gm put the final nail in their coffin
  21. I didn’t pay any attention to the gmc’s here. We don’t have many gmc dealers, and the ones we do pretty much only have Denali ultimate duramax’s on the lots, and I don’t want nor afford a $110k truck, but I’ll have to swing by a few and just see what their stickers say for build location my 21 half ton came out of Fort Wayne, which was rare for 21 here. Most were Mexican plant built at the time iirc
  22. It does have the rear slider, and all our hd’s come from Oshawa here, very rare to see block heaters outside of the diesels (and even some dealer won’t order them, you have to add it yourself), and temp wise it rarely gets much below 0f which is like -20c. When I go sledding in tug hill it gets much colder there (-20f in Feb isn’t unheard of). But yeah, it’s definitely got the standard plow setup, and the ride isn’t bad at all, our roads are far from smooth here and it was fine for me on the decent length test drive I took it on, I had a 2012 Chevy 3500 srw before. So I knew what to expect in reality and it’s still a smoother front end than a solid axle truck. the multiflex tailgate is an option I wouldn’t have taken if I ordered it, zero need for it for me, maybe I’ll change my mind down the road? And the upper level headlights are nice over the custom/base lt ones, the tail lights are gonna take some getting use to, I don’t care a ton of the new led ones, I liked the led ones my 21 has. But good thing I can’t see them while I drive
  23. I went to multiple ford dealers, and locaters, but outside of the STX or fully loaded lariats and above. There was zero that fell into what I wanted (7.3/10r140, and heated seats), plus my friend getting me a gms discount code, the trailboss fell to the price they were selling the stx 6.8 f250’s at…. So it was a “well, this is what’s falls into place” I’ve loved my 6.2, so it’s still going to be sad to see it go, but I never let it run the DFM, I ran the pulsar lt in it, and when it’s not hooked up, I did the L9 and click off the start/stop, it’s always shifted like it has alllll the line pressure, and at an idle in gear you can feel the motor basically randomly misfiring, I’ve been suspect of the lifters in the truck for a long time. But it never throws a code? I’ve started it more then once and gotten out to watch the motor rocking back and forth as if it’s running on 7 or less cylinders… now I never commented it to my dad who went along to the dealer and his first comment in the 2500 was “wow this runs smoother then your current truck”. I’ve never had an issue with my rock tamers melting, but they have been modified from previous trucks that I have it flipped around to go under the bed/bumper, and drilled extra bolt holes to secure it to the hitch (it was busted so I took it to work and milled it on a mill and tried something, and it worked, so it has zero chuck in it now) it’s a moderately loaded truck, compared to my 21, I’m losing the sunroof (good riddance it was a gurgling nightmare with water in it), the leather and a the bose audio package (that’s about the only sad part, but oh well). Here’s the window sticker from it though
  24. And pulled the trigger on the trailboss, picking it up next Saturday, just gotta finish up the paperwork with my credit union. Runs and shifts a ton smoother then my 6.2 trailboss, felt so much more at home back in the hd truck
