  1. I've been getting posts on this page for almost three years now. I just can't wait to get rid of this truck. I hate learning the hard way. Almost three years and no one has an answer, dealership doesn't care, GM doesn't care, salesman only wants to sell me a new truck to fix the problem. I'm just glad that I leased the truck and have an out in the distant future.
  2. There wasn't anything special about the road. I made sure of that so it wouldn't be the root cause. At first I thought it may have been. The road surface didn't change even after the vibration began again.
  3. OK it'd been a while since I last posted. With that did I do read these updated posted several times a day. So many different ideas on what the cause is. I have encountered something I haven't seen before. Over the holidays I drove to Massachusetts from Jersey. Still vibrated and I think has gotten worse very recently. One thing I noticed something odd on my trip back to Jersey. For a moment maybe several miles, maybe more then 5 less then 10. The truck drove like it was on glass. It was so noticeable that I was almost in tears, lol. Just a thought, I'll say what I was thinking. It was like whatever magic lottery ticket that I just cashed was something that phased in sync then phased back out. Almost as if from various turns, maybe from the limited slip which changes phasing of the timing of axles and rings pinion that it momentarily BALANCED!!!! When it happened I was on a rather straight portion of road and as it started to slowly curve the vibration came about slowly then progressed. This wasn't a momentary thing or a temporary road condition thing. So I figured I'd throw this out there maybe someone has a thought that would expand using what occurred. Thanks, H.
  4. I just got my truck back on Monday, VIBRATION FREE!!! Ive put just over 150 more miles on it (760 on it now) and no problems. I will say my dealer had recognized a problem with the vehicle and kept me informed with how they were going to fix it. They had to put some mileage (60 miles approx.) on it to run the Vibration Analyzer on it, which didnt make me too happy. Im just glad they repaired it and did it whithin a reasonable time. I wasnt happy that this happened right out of the gate from purchasing the truck BUT Im glad they were able to FIND AND FIX the problem. They ended up putting a new ring, pinion, bearings and yoke in the rear diff. The truck drives smooth as glass now and I couldnt be more happier. This is how a warranty repair should be done. Out of all the posts Ive seen on here Im surprised at how many people havent had the same luck as me. Im glad it didnt go the way so many here have had it. Thanks, H!
  5. Ok, well my dilemma is just starting I guess. I have a 2015 GMS Sierra 1500 Z71 double cab. My dealer had to locate the vehicle I wanted and when I picked it up it already had 90 miles on it. Ok, so no problem I can live with that. I had the truck 6 days and noticed a vibration in the steering wheel that just didnt feel right. I contacted the salesman he said to bring it by and they will look at it. I stopped by and they had a mechanic go for a ride with me, he drove and said that this was the worst vibration of all the trucks he has driven with the same problem. Ok, so Im not happy to hear they know of a problem, but to me being a mechanic I thought well thats good it should be easy to diagnose and or repair. He tells me he has to hook the truck up to a vibration diagnostic computer to verify where its coming from. I got a call from the service manager yesterday and they said they are putting a new ring and pinion in the truck along with rotors. My question really comes into play with how much mileage does this vibration diagnostic tool need a vehicle driven to check and diagnose a problem? At my last check, they drove the truck 68 miles! This to me seems a little excessive when it doesnt take more than a 1/4 mile to feel the problem. For me the vibration was between 30mph and 70mph. Another question I have has anyone gotten any kickback from GM in regards to down time, miles or just the general inconvenience this has caused? I brought this truck in with 498 miles on it and I can see them having the truck more time than I have and possibly putting more miles on it than I have. OR should I just shut up and be thankful it gets fixed? lol!
