  1. I'm still waiting to receive them, also I no longer own a Sierra so my review of them wont be too spot on for your application. My Sierra rode incredibly rough over everything which is part of the reason I traded it.
  2. How'd you calc that? I've never heard of stock coils on any truck being that high.
  3. I'm pretty sure the stock coils are around 500lb/in and I can almost guarantee that Bilstein will use the 650lb/in for the 6112's seeing how this is what they use for other trucks. Fox uses the same coil on the 2.0's and I couldn't justify waiting any longer so I ordered them instead. Also because I believe the coating on Fox shocks holds up a lot better than Bilsteins in Canadian weather.
  4. Yes, and I'm pretty sure that little rings purpose is to help hold up the bump stop. I can't see any other purpose for it.
  5. I've ordered bilstein shocks three times and every time the boxes were pretty smooshed up.
  6. I believe it's used to hold the bump stop up so it doesn't freely slide around on the shaft.
  7. Sorry my bad, I for some reason didnt see it when I went back and looked at it. So I copied it out of my email. Id still like to know what the 6112 kit with 5100 rears is going to run in comparison to the fox. Fox has high retail, but are found online usually through forum reps for a lot cheaper. For me Ill mainly be riding on streets, but canadian roads are brutal so its nice to have something to take the hits. I would never need a larger diameter for cooling because I wont be beating on them. $697 for tundra front 6112's http://shop.totalautomotiveperformance.net/bilstein-6112/6112-series-shocks/46206084/i-2110476.aspx $189 for pair of 5100's http://shop.totalautomotiveperformance.net/bilstein-5100/bilstein-5100-rear/24186971-pair/i-1791209.aspx $886 total, but I'm sure they will go for less. I've had 5100's in the past and they corroded really bad in canada, to the point that after two years when I went to lower them down, they had to be hack sawed off the vehicle and I bought a new set. I like the idea of the clear coat that fox uses.
  8. Exactly I wanted the new 6112's for my new truck, but I've been waiting too long already so I ordered the fox 2.0's. When I found out that the tundra application uses the same coil as the fox 2.0's I figured they couldn't be that much different. I find a lot of people talk up bilstein big time on forums, while they are good shocks, some people make them seem like they're the superman of shocks.
  9. My posts arent very clear because you edited yours and now I look like Im talking to myself. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO COMPARED THE FOX 2.0'S TO 5100'S.... I was simply disagreeding with you, and clearly you disagreed with yourself because you edited your post and removed what you said. Also I got my full set of fox front and rear for $890. How much do a set of 6112's with 5100 rears cost?
  10. We were talking about comparing the 5100's to the fox 2.0's
  11. I wonder why fox makes the 2.0 different for the aluminum suspension. do their coils come in contact with the control arms some how? Only difference between aluminum and steel arms is the ball joint tapers.
  12. I guess when you compare the fact that they are both 2.0" shocks, and the price for the hardware/top mount and eibach springs, they are similarly priced. To me the fox are much more appealing. I think that bilstein should be selling their 6112's assembled to. Making the customer use their stock hardware and top mount is kind of a slap in the face for the price they sell for.
  13. I would not compare the fox 2.0 to a 5100. 5100 digressive, non rebuild-able, zinc coated brushed metal finish (corrodes fairly quick in extreme weather) fox 2.0 progressive, rebuild-able, billet aluminium, zinc plated double clear coated
  14. Fox 2.0 is very comparable and probably cheaper for the full set. Pm super trucks USA on the forum and they will give you a good deal. Same coil but progressive damping instead of digressive. Arguably better.
  15. 6112's for the tundra use a 650lb eibach coil. I would imagine they will use the same for GM trucks. Same spring that fox uses on the 2.0 for half ton applications.
