  1. Truck axle production moving back to the expensive US from cheaper Mexico. Been wondering since these posts if product quality was the reason for this change. http://www.autonews.com/article/20170116/OEM01/170119817/gm-to-invest-%241-billion-in-u.s.-manufacturing-move-axle-work-from http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2017/01/450_new_gm_jobs_coming_to_mich.html
  2. I'll take on your claim about worst dealer. Mine just ignored my complaints about vehicle shaking. The techs kept writing that the vehicle was operating to manufacturer's specs. Then the dealer replaced my wheels under the corrosion warranty. Lo and behold, shake almost completely gone! Just a quiver now and then and only on specific areas of freeways. SMH, I can't stand when the dealer doesn't believe me.
  3. Had the rims replaced on my vehicle yesterday. Took one short drive on the freeway, vehicle vibrates when driving in the 73-76 mph range. But the vehicle tracking is stable. No more vehicle shaking to the point it feels scary to drive. I don't think its going to get better than what I have now. I've decided to wait and see as some posters here mention that as the tires settle on the rims ride characteristics can change.
  4. I'm adding Costco to my strategy then. Here's my current situation: My 2014 Sierra obviously has a badly balanced wheel because it will shake depending on where tires are rotated to. With 22k on the odo and 18 months into my bumper to bumper warranty, my chrome wheels are blistering and the chrome is flaking off. Gm is replacing them under warranty and when I get it back if it shakes again I'll try Costco. But first, I'm going right from the dealer to a freeway to see if it's happening again. If it does I'll take it right back.
  5. Drove a friend's 2016 F150 recently, reminded me of the ride in my 2012 Sierra. My 2014 Sierra can't compete for ride quality. When I traded in I had no idea that the Sierra redesign was going to leave me wanting my old truck back. I think GM screwed the pooch when they updated the Sierra.
  6. I'm driving a 2014 Sierra and it still is not repaired. I can't even get the company/ dealer to acknowledge there's a problem.
  7. After several emails with GM priority care, I have been referred to "GM customer experience managers" back at my dealer. I am supposed to be contacted by someone today abut my truck's shaking.
  8. I thought I was lucky when, last year, the dealer balance my tires and my 2014 Sierra SLT stopped shaking. Recently it began again but in the 75-80mph range (18k on the odo). The dealer's mechanic says he cannot reproduce my concern and the dealer says they won't operate the vehicle at that speed. Take any Turnpike or Parkway in New Jersey and 70-75mph is the speed traffic is moving (65 mph speed limit). So unless you want to be the obstruction, you match traffic's speed. Do you think a call to GM customer care would even help?
  9. After reading this thread I can say that my 2014 Sierra does have less body shake. My 2012 Sierra had uncomfortable body shake driving over rough patches of roads. I realized, now, that my 2014 Sierra doesn't have body shake like the 2012. I am guessing the trade off is now that I get this resonance occurring, driving on smooth roads above 70mph. I live in New Jersey and don't often get a chance to drive above 70mph in daily driving. I agree that this resonance is intermittent and doesn't always happen. I've driven the same route some days and no vibration, other days the vibration in the truck gets a bit scary. I'm going to try changing the tire pressures and see what I get, the dealer delivered the truck with tire pressures of 35-38 psi.
