  1. Hello all and good morning. I have a 2014 Silverado and successfully got a buy back from GM. When I first noticed the vibration around 40 to 50 miles per hour I went through the whole Ranger of going back to the dealership Time After Time. After five sets of new tires, all different brands, new differential and other stuff I finally decided to cut my losses. I contacted the 800 number and then GM owners manual and I opened a case with the customer care Department. Now while they proved to be quite useless, it helped my case. I've been contacted the Better Business Bureau Auto line division. This was an absolute lifesaver. Within a week they had a buyback deal on the table with GM. The arbitrator at Better Business Bureau didn't like that deal so she fought for two weeks for an exceptional deal. I accepted the buy back because I did not want to go to mediation in court. I also have filed a certified letter with the attorney general that's part of the process in Florida. I only owned my truck for about 3 months and in that time I successfully got the buyback, but the deal was that I had to buy any GM vehicle from that dealership. My truck was labeled a lemon and it was shipped back good Michigan. The dealership didn't want any part of it. I opted to get a GMC Acadia after much research on consumer reports. It's very disheartening because I've had Chevy trucks for 12 years but I think I'm done with them. At least until after 2019 from what I've read on this form. To help with the buyback I kept very very detailed notes every invoice every conversation date time. I had to fax all of this information to the arbitrator at Better Business Bureau. And because there was so many invoices and so many phone calls and so many phone records it assisted in me getting the buy back super fast. I'll mention it again, I live in South Florida. I'm just reposting this for anyone who wasn't on this form back in March or April of 2015.
  2. I only owned my truck for 2 months before GM did a buyback. The vibration was so bad they had it more than I did. I went through opening a ticket with GM themselves, spoke with numerous people there and was frustrated by them daily. I then decided to do lemon law..and I also filed a BBB autoline complaint. This was the ray of sunshine I needed. Within 2 days they had an offer on the table: pick out ANY GM vehicle. I have already voiced my concerns about getting another truck. I live in Florida in the Better Business Bureau negotiator told me this is the best state for lemon laws. I have posted a few times about this...but with sooo many posts it probably got lost in the shuffle. Its been a month now that I've had my new vehicle and everything is fine. I'm still hashing out small stuff with the dealership, but that's not GM. Oh and tell them you want a change of collateral. There's no new financing with this, they just swap out vehicles.
  3. CaptGary...I'm extremely happy for you! Seems like the BBB Autoline was the answer..and you got it done quick it seems. My dealership tried pulling same fast one on me to trade in my truck..I could smell the sheisty deal a mile away. I continued with lemon law process and BBB arbitration. I was in a loaner vehicle for about 6 weeks straight...not counting the previous 4 visits which were at least 3 days per visit. I finally wrapped up mine a week ago.. GM let me pick out any GM vehicle. Sine I did lemon law...they had to abide by those rules. And they were in my favor big time. I got a 2015 GMC Acadia SLT. Its nice...but no truck. But I wasn't going to test the waters twice. When you go through buy back...tell them you want a "CHANGE OF COLLATERAL". This way you won't have to refinance. They basically swap out vin numbers on everything..then you sign new deal with new vin#. this way, financing stays same.
  4. Not sure what state your in...but file lemon law and a BBB claim. I did in Florida, and my claim is almost settled. Same vibration issue on my 2014 V8 silverado. GM bought truck back above MSRP only catch is I have to get ANY GM vehicle...im staying away from their trucks. Sierras have same prob. As for your quest...tell rep you want buy back..this is full MSRP..it still takes about 2 months...but if you can leave truck at dealer and have them give you a loaner...my truck has been at dealer for 3 weeks straight now. I'm in last leg of lemon law..if your persist and let them know you know your stuff you'll win this battle too.
  5. my 2014 silverado has been vibrating since I've owned it,which is a month. Its been back 5 times..still no fix after 4 sets tires and new rear differential. Service dept wasn't too helpful at keeping me informed. I filed lemon law and BBB auto lube complaint. I researched laws here in Florida and followed instructions. The nightmare is coming to an end. BBB has done more in a week than I thought possible. They got me a buy out deal from GM. Plus the dealership is also offering g me a separate deal. Now I'm waiting to see what the lemon law deal will be because service admitted today they can't fix it. If anyone had had their truck back in more than 3 times please file a BBB autoline complaint. I'm just nervous now because I have to get another truck. I wanted to get a different vehicle and still trying to negotiate that issue.
  6. My 14 Silverado1500 will now be going back for a 5th time. I've had 3 sets of tires, numerous balancing, a new rear differential...and nothing has changed. The vibration is still felt around 50mph...but real bad once i hit 70. I'vespoken with GM numerous times at the early response unit. Ive threatened the lemon law last week. They are now sending a field rep out this Thursday to look at my truck. Based on this site ive asked them to replace the dtive shaft but dealership just doesnt want to listen. They are usimg some "high tech" pico scope to measure the vibration...so their relying solely on that... Any other ideas besides the drive shaft or rear differential? They know after this week, they either have to find a fix or buy it back.. or else lemon law papers go out Friday.
  7. Thanks for the link... I've already researched this and have paperwork printed out. I just have to wait till the 3rd trip back to mail the certified letter to GM. Then they have 10 days to get my truck back in. I've also read that they might be quicker to do a buy back then because a lemon law claim looks pretty bad on their record.
  8. Here's an update: I wasn't waiting for dealer to jerk me around anymore so I called GM myself and opened a claim. They tried co tacting the dealer several times, but dealer was avoiding them. Finally dealer made arrangements with GM to bring my truck back in Monday to look at suspension and rear differential. I've bern telling dealer things to look at based on this forum, but they keep saying "it's not that". GM keeps calling me asking me what I want and I tell them to fix it or buy it back so I can get a 2015. I keep stressing to them this is the 3rd time they're trying to fix...I'm trying to give the subtle hint of leMon law. Any ideas on how to get GM to buy this back? They keep wanting to dump money into a sinking ship... i don't get it.
  9. Plese help.. I bought my 14 Silverado 1500 LT 3 weeks ago. I have the 20' rims too. I can't go over 70 without the truck shaking. Its already been back to the dealer twice...and they've spent close to $2200 putting on three sets of tires. Next week their getting a special set shipped directly from Detroit. It's so frustrating because their at least 25 mins from me. Im trying to convince them it's obviously not the tires...three sets wouldn't be bad??? I've read about drive shaft issues?? I'm trying to convince them, but of course girls can't possibly know about trucks... Please help me... i need all the knowledge I can get before they callme in a few days.
