Yes you would need to get the front end aligned because you will be changing the geometry by adding the spacer. I thought the thin shim wouldn't do much on top of the coil but it does. If you are mechanically inclined, I would say go for it. It is not all that difficult to pull the front end apart with it sitting on a jack stand. I personally have the TG kit you mentioned and threw it on without any trouble. Only needed a second set of hands at one point to put it all back together. Save yourself hundreds in shop labor. The modification isn't all that difficult, just hard cutting your new truck. You have to cut the circular plastic bracket that holds the stock light housing. It can be done with a razor blade. Then you mark and drill holes for the new light brackets. The hardest part is getting all the hardware on and squeezing your hand in the bumper to tighten it all up.
