  1. From reading the letter, it seems that they have all the documentation they need, and it will go forward to arbitration. It should have included the BBB brochure on how the process works.
  2. So is Ford..
  3. I guess the only problem with this type of complaint, and what lemon law typically applies to, is they always refer to "unreasonable risk" or "safety" or "minimum safety standards". It probably gets argued by GM and government agencies that for the most part, vibration is not considered "unreasonable risk" or "safety" or "minimum safety standards". Perhaps if it is so severe that steering or stability becomes impaired, it could be considered, but that might end up being the exception rather than the norm. This is what makes it difficult to fight.
  4. This is from msn money.. Models included in the buyback offer are certain Ram 1500s from 2009 to 2012; the Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4 by 4 from 2008; and the Ram 2500 4 by 4, 3500 4 by 4, 4500 4 by 4, and 5500 4 by 4, all from 2008 through 2012. Also part of the offer are 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUVs and the Dodge Dakota pickup from 2009 through 2011. The Jeep issue is different, it is about the fuel tank being located too far to the rear, making it vulnerable in rear end crashes (anybody remember the Ford Pinto?)
  5. I have to say that my 2015 Sierra 1500 CC with 5.3 has no noticeable vibration or shudder or anything when switching in or out of AFM. The only way I can tell is to look at the information display in the dash. From what I gather, you can force it to not invoke AFM by putting the transmission in M5, so if you think that any vibration is caused by AFM, running it in M5 will let you concentrate just on other sources of vibration.
  6. My 2015 Sierra CC has no noticeable vibration. It has almost 2000 miles on it. There was speculation a while back on this thread if the running boards might be involved, some kind of aerodynamic fluttering at high speed. I can say, since I bought the truck without running boards, and having has them installed 3 weeks later (they were ordered to be installed when I purchased the vehicle, but they did not have them in stock initially), that there was no difference after, no noticeable vibration either way.
  7. I believe it was mentioned before, but putting the transmission in M5 mode disables AFM.
  8. Projectsummit, What kind of tires do you have and when did you first notice the problem?
  9. Reading through this thread (whew!), it seems that most people got their trucks stock with GoodYear tires. I wonder if the choice of tire is a regional thing or what. I just bought a 2015(.5 I guess) GMC Sierra SLE. It is Crew Cab, 4X4, 5.3, 1K miles so far. It came stock with Bridgestone Dueler tires. I live in the Northern California area. So far, I have not noticed any unusal vibration at any speed (knock on wood), or V8/V4 mode. I am concerned by the extent of this vibration problem though. I only came across this forum because of a reference on the Chevy Traverse forum because I also have a 2010 Traverse that just had the timing chain TSB done (that apparently is another GM horror story). It also came with Bridgestone Dueler tires. So, I will continue to follow this thread and hope I don't end up with the vibration problem.
