  1. Well I took the switching motor off the side of the transfer case and switched it manually. Obviously something not working inside transfer case. Checked fluid and it was over full telling me the seal between trans and transfer case probably bad too, but fluid was grey in color and sparkly. Guess I’ll be replacing that soon. I’ll drive it for a couple weeks yet until I get the chance to change out. Thanks for the help everyone.
  2. OK, I did what you said to do. I jacked up the passenger front and it had some tension on it, so I got underneath of it and watched the front driveshaft spin while I was turning it by hand. So why won’t it engage while driving it?
  3. No, I haven't. i know for sure its not engaging when the back wheels spin on gravel and the fronts do nothing
  4. I’ve tried 4 hi and 4 low. I can hear the transfer case shifting so I know it’s working. It is an auto 4 transfer case 246 I believe. What I don’t understand is how it works in the air (on jack stands) but not on the ground
  5. 2004 Silverado, new transfer case encoder, and now transfer case shifts to 4wd, new front diff actuator, and it works with the switch. I verified before installing. Scan proved both speed sensors on transfer case are working properly. I have verified front diff to engage by pushing in locking mechanism inside differential. Jacked up in the air (no load) the front will spin, under load (on the ground) the 4wd does not seem to engage properly. I’m at a loss and cannot figure out what to do next. Can someone help me please?
  6. There are trucks in other states without cab lights. I just not a big fan of having extra holes in the top of my cab if its not NECESSARY that it has to be
  7. Looking at new 2025, but all I can find are trucks with cab lights. I'm not a fan because I don't want any other reason for the roof to leak. Has there been many reported roof leaks from the cab lights? Google didn't show too much.
  8. I've had a 2500 trail boss on order since The first week of February....... Apparently they are having issues building them with the multi-flex tailgates.
  9. I have an order in for a 25 trail boss, and on the order, I opted for the 220 amp alternator. Researching this, I came across something wierd, so I’m just trying to get some info on it. I found a truck at a dealer similar to my options, but it shows a 220 amp with a 170 amp backup? Does that mean it will have two alternators?
  10. I had my 2015 HD changed right after i got it. I run my tires 55 front 50 rear. Never had an issue running 295/55-20. Now I've moved up to 305/55-20, and running same pressure but tires are heavier ply. I've sold tires most of my life and never had issues running under pressure in vehicles except for the Firestone issue back in the day.
  11. For the last month, they have been building diesels according to my dealer. I started this in January, i really hope i can get one ordered before the 26 model year line comes out
  12. How long does it take for them to accept the order? My dealer has been trying for three weeks now, and apparently they are only building diesel trucks right now? And without gooseneck hitches? I didn't know there were those kind of stipulations on getting a truck built.
  13. DELETE, found information already
  14. I’m going to replace the tires on my truck. The ones on it now have been on 8 years, and new sensors with the new wheels at that same time. I think the next set may go just as long, so while I was doing it, I want to replace TPMS sensors. Is there anybody here that knows a current part number for those sensors? 2015 Silverado HD, crew, gas burner. Just a standard truck, not anything fancy
  15. I am about ready to replace my tires on my truck, and after 6 years of being in use, I was going to replace the TPMS stems too. I bought gm 13598772 new when I did the tires and wheels, but wondered if anyone knew if there was an updated part number.
  16. I see now that Sylvania now selling LED bulbs. I have the Silverstar XZE or something like that in mine, but I wondered if anybody had tried the Sylvania LEDs
  17. I am at work, and don't have my manual available to me right now. What are the USB ports for in the console on a 2015 Silverado? There is also one in the glove box. I want to get a cable to run my phone music on aux, but don't know what port to use. Thanks in advance
  18. You could get GM ones. I think the BDS would be the better buy, but I've looked into this stainless one and you can get the lower skid plate too, however I cant find that in stainless. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjoh8_P0tn1AhWUGH0KHe2jBRQYABAJGgJwdg&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESWOD2di37mKSMN5kq_pLkpZ3h2sLbajoyx32upinxsmNJRMfnP1AFmUhLaVX3FnsaedPa6vRx1FXeiDOSKq38P2ctYFUfLymlbtNUG8amTnrO9NPXyH93l28&sig=AOD64_1QhnVUzDchOJ4LpJqk2BTeAzypvg&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwi9_8bP0tn1AhVLHTQIHXVkCcEQ9aACegQIARBE&adurl=
  19. With disc brakes, where does the drag come from? There is almost no drag at all on the rears when I jack it up and turn the wheels. Do I need to adjust the emergency brakes for the drag?
  20. Its like when I put on the brakes, the rear brakes will stop the axles, but then releasing the brakes, the brakes release and the truck lunges forward like its releasing sprung up weight and it clunks a little bit. The suspension is all stock, but I will have to check spring bushings and mounts.
  21. Yes, its a one piece driveshaft. I made sure splines were good, then put some grease in there before sliding in the trans. Thank you for your reply txab, I'm really trying to find this problem..............
  22. Ok, I looked thru the first 20 pages of the topics her and couldn't find what I felt I needed to solve my problem. My truck is an 04, extended cab, 233,000 miles on drivetrain, rear disc brake truck. When I brake, the rear end feel like it loads up and unloads (for lack of better terms) when I release the brakes. I replaced u-joints not quite a year ago, along with brakes and everything looked good. I filled the drive shaft with grease before slipping back onto transmission end, couldn't believe there was no grease zert in that slip yoke to do that. Seems like it just started this this summer, but I don't know where to look. Could the shocks be letting the axle wrap just a little bit when braking? The truck is fairly clean underneath for the miles and environment. Its just annoying I can't figure this out. Thanks for any help.
  23. I could mod my current 6.0, and probly will in the future. It just sounded like it would be cool to do a swap with that new 6.6. I had mine tuned and it runs rather well, but I still want more out of it. Probly a cam swap in the future and see if that gets me what I want for awhile,
  24. I've been reading alot lately about the performance of the 6.6 gas motors in the new trucks. I love my truck, and only wish it would have more power for get up and go. I drive my truck the way I want, and sometimes thats faster than most. I would have a 6.2 half ton, but my enclosed trailer is more than a half ton could pull comfortably. I have seen a few 6.6 gas motors showing up in salvage yards already, and I believe there is even one on ebay for sale right now. I wonder what it would take to swap in place of a 6.0? I really don't know much about them except they are a direct inject motor (I think) but my truck is a 15 and shouldn't be that far off on electronics I wouldn't think.
