  1. What worked for me was to unplug the onstar door Chime amp harness that's right behind the radio. Plug it back in and it resets the chime level and even stopped the radio from emitting a high pitch whine out of the onstar speaker. If it gets moved loud chime and whine come back. I don't know if it's replaceable from GM or Onstar.
