  1. I'll bet your truck lost the bearings on a roller on 1 of the lifters, and now is wiping out a cam lobe.
  2. And to top it off finally.......................these small GM LS engines are designed to SPIN!!!!! Why choke them down to just off idle for cruising. Why/how the "bean counters" have influenced the "engineering department" at GM is beyond me. They took a solid platform of an engine and turned into a joke in OEM form!!!
  3. IMNTBHO; the worst thing for the 6L80 is to be lugged down to low engine rpm while in high gear......AKA, to save fuel. I rarely use D on my '16 with the 6L80 and use M mode to keep engine RPM above 1500 at the speed I'm driving, which is also benefiticial for the tranny because line pressure is kept up because the pump is actually turning a decent speed, and it's not always hunting to drop to the next gear to lower the engine RPM's. Never above 30mph.............M3, maybe M4 if just driving thru a small NoDak town Never above 40mph............M4 Never above 50-55mph.............M5 This is way better for the tranny and the engine.........especially if AFM is still active. 262K miles on my OEM 6L80 as I type this.
  4. Made a trip to Paducah, KY 2 weeks ago for a retriever event. 1100+miles from my place in South-central NoDak. 2500+miles roundtrip in less than 2 weeks. These 2 photos are after filling up in Aberdeen, SD and driving 1/2 tank.................... Wound up averaging just under 23mpg for the tank and got 667+ miles on the tank. I should mention that I did have a 25-30mph NNW wind behind me a good chunk of the way. Milage dropped when I had to go straight East in Missouri, and the wind more of a crosswind vs. behind. Not complaining at all. Drove truck at 70-72mph. Also rolled 260k on the clock on the homeward bound trip.

  5. That sounds terrible, and is definitely not right. I've no idea what it could be though. This thread would probably get more traction in the Engine section.
  6. To the turbo 4 cylinder fan boy sticky????
  7. Transmission filter is essentially a "coffee filter/strainer".......................imperetive...........NO.......................feel good about doing it....................priceless.
  8. My 3rd set of OEM plugs keep my '16 going.............even in these temps.............
  9. Bump to top................. How do these engines do in weather like this.....................this was low overnight. this is current at 1:00pm....
  10. You couldn't figure out what info he wanted from that??
  11. I started pulling 1 gallon/4 quarts out the tranny dipstick tube at 45,000 miles on my 2016. Been doing that about every 15,000 miles since. Every now and then I'll pull out an extra 10oz. of fluid, and add a bottle of LubeGard Red with the new fluid. Almost 254,000 miles on the OEM unit, pan never dropped and filter/strainer never changed. I tow a lot, and do a lot of highway miles also.
  12. 05F52B34-AAB0-4EB3-AC85-139DD1C2306E.heic 253,4xx now.
  13. I have a Discount Tire house brand on my truck now called Rocky Mountain All Terrain in size 265/70 17. They have almost 61,000 miles on them, and have at least half the tread left. I love them.
  14. Check that notorious ground by the drivers side A-pillar. There's been numerous threads here about it. The ground does have a name, but I cannot remember it right now.
  15. I'm still interested/intrigued by this engine.............if'n I need to buy before I want to.
