  1. By "run them in" he is referring to putting the self tapping bolts in before installing the shield. Helps to start it straight, dont have to fiddle with shield and can see what your doing better. Then remove that self tap screw put your plate on and put the screw in again for the actual install.
  2. Thanks for the reply guys, made a quick video so you get an idea of what Im seeing. Might be worrying about nothing. The can is working, I catch as much as anyone else from what I have seen posted. I do have a hissing but there are zero leaks. If I squeeze the hose hiss is gone, so leads me to believe its just noise from air passing through the can and lines. https://vid.me/oj0t Ignore when I say throttle body, meant to say the line that goes to the intake. Its the line from the side of the can to the side of the intake.
  3. Hey I love them, front two fit perfect right out of the box. The rear full mat had to be folded for shipping. It had some spots that hovered a little when first installed. After a full weekend it settled down along the door sills and everywhere I was worried about. They all have the little nipples underneath to keep them in place too. I first compared husky to weathertech and every pic showed the weathertech curling near the kick panel/or dead pedal. Just didnt fit well in my opinion for the money. I have yet to see a picture of the Weathertech without that curling. Then I went back and forth about Husky XAct Fit vs Husky Weatherbeater. From what I have gathered XAct fit is more like a traditional rubber mat but still full coverage. The Weatherbeater is a stiffer molded plastic type. I ended up with the weatherbeater. You can wipe them clean and they fit great. Couldnt be happier with them so far. I got mine on Amazon for I think 180ish with Prime shipping.
  4. Thanks for the feedback guys! So I cant edit old posts, so those reserved spots are useless haha. Highly recommend all the mods below, all had great fitment, and installed in no time at all. Added from Christmas: Center Console Organizer Driver Side Grab Handle Husky WeatherBeater floor mats WeatherTech No Drill Splash Guards
  5. Just did mine and just like this man says. Took a few minutes and fit perfect.
  6. Is that attached to the big bolt you can see in the pic? I like this mounting position, might move mine.
  7. Thanks for the reply, it runs from the side of the can to the manifold and the check-valve has the little arrow on it pointing toward the manifold. I tested it by blowing through it as well. I dont have any hard bends but where it turns by the valve cover/radiator hose is where it flattens.
  8. Planning on doing this as next big mod, rears are cake. Fronts are what I'm wondering about a bit. Haven't seen a write up or how to yet. If no one does one by the time I buy them, I might try my hand at one. Refuse to pay the install prices haha.
  9. Sounded real easy but I'll let you know for sure tomorrow.
  10. Was just about to post that, same link I got mine at. I'll get it out on tomorrow and post a pic.
  11. I got a link on Amazon and just forwarded to family. Was a good price from what I remember. I'll try to find link but I know there are a couple colors. Thanks, good way to attack it. I know they discontinued the color after 15 I believe so might be hard. Think it pulls off the chrome pretty well but wonder how color matched would look.
  12. Added Husky Weatherbeater Mats, WeatherTech splash guards, GM console organizer that I got for Christmas. I have the driver grab handle still to install. Try to get pics up after it is on. Love the look of color matched handles and mirror caps but I don't know where to get them in Blue Granite Metallic.
  13. Looks great! Plates nice and thick, looks like aluminum right? Edit: Just looked at page 3 thanks for all the info. Might be grabbing a set! Where does the little black plate go?
  14. So my line from can to intake is collapsing more than I'm comfortable with when engine bay is hot. Seems to be after the check valve. Is the check valve necessary or just redundant. Assume the normal PCV is enough. This is the standard elite kit and their hose on my 14 5.3. Josh
  15. Id try swapping manifold driver to passenger for a front exit first. Have to plumb a merge and find a place for the turbo. Not sure how much room your working with in front of the 4.3. I know flipping the truck manifolds were a popular cheap way to go in the past.
  16. Awesome, that would be great to see. I use Imgur for image hosting.
  17. Looking to add some LED bulbs to my Lo beams and fogs on my Silverado with projectors. Anyone have a good setup with part numbers or link? Dont really want to hassle with HID's and the DRL's.
  18. Def post pics and let us know your thoughts
  19. Thats awesome, seems like it would be worth it. So who has these, we need pics. Found on amazon for 20 more but they look black in that pic. http://www.amazon.com/General-Motors-Shield-Kit/dp/B00Y3RYP98/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449846057&sr=8-1&keywords=GM+%23+23176881
  20. that front plastic part is on my non Z71 LTZ, just flimsy plastic. make sure its not already on your truck
  21. Wearing candy stripe pants right now ha
  22. Only thing more gross than what the can caught is that sticker someone put on your truck haha I have a slight hissing but all connections are secured and pipe thread used liberally. There is a bend where the line when under vacuum is partially collapsed. 99% sure that is what my little bit of hissing sound is. Not concerned enough to replace the line yet, but surprised the line Elite sent would do that. Curious what kind of line people are upgrading too?
  23. Agree, I dont see anyway a can would do that. I thought there was another thread with an issue like this, several people having spark plug wires coming loose at the coil. I would check all 8 at both ends.
  24. Haha yeah I'd bet he misjudged that. Take it at a angle and He might have made it.
  25. F that, Id head to BMV and get my name on that registration and title and show back up.
