  1. Can you hear it hood shut? I could hear it if I stuck my head in the bay. With hood shut and normal idling I haven't noticed it at all.
  2. I noticed the little but of collapse myself, assumed vacuum. No where near enough for me to worry about though.
  3. Great looking truck, think your missing a lug nut though.
  4. Haha pretty awesome, where did you get those and how much?
  5. Really sucks to see and I hope you get it taken care of. Only spot Id say my chipping is excessive is behind rear wheels and have mud guards on the way. At 41k miles though I really dont have options, just gong to prevent more and touch up what is there.
  6. Great looking truck, what wheels are those? Like them better than my LTZ wheels and seen them on one local truck.
  7. Hey quick video I made, might help you out. https://vid.me/nEGW

  9. Got my Elite can installed last night, had an extra Oring that seemed too small to be a replacement but it could be a stretch fit. There was one already on the can. Two extra clips with my check valve and the lock washers werent needed for mounting near the windshield washer reservoir per the instructions on their site. Anyone know if the o ring is a spare or what it is for?

  12. Last night I recieved and installed my Elite Engineering catch can. Nice piece and I just bought the standard can. I didnt really like the mounting on the brake booster, it rubbed a line and seemed like it would be harder to empty so I went with the windshield washer location.
  13. Hey guys, going to be a slow build but Ill post my progress as I go over the years. Ive done similar things with previous LS cars and always seems cool to see the evolution. I bought the truck from my father-in-law instead of him trading it in. Before that I had an 02 F150 that I loved. Ill add a pic of that for reference. I dont want to void my warranty so Ill be tayloring mods around that. Since bumper to bumper is out means appearance and suspension are open. Any drive train, performance mods, or tuning will have to wait till it expires after 5 years. I only dirve about 10k miles a year so I wont hit the 100k mile limit. Here is the truck as I got it and the couple add ons it had: 2014 Silverado Blue Granite 5.3 3.42 Black Leather with 41k miles Soft Tonneau cover Line-X bed liner Modifications I have added: High Country Grille from Rydell Surplus Plasti-Dip front and rear bowties Catch Can from Elite Engineering The day I brought it home! First mod was the High country grille from Rydell Surplus, great deal on the grille and quick service and shipping. The next day I spent Plati-Diping the front and rear bowties.
  14. Cool thanks for the education, I didn't know they shared the issue. Looks like we're SOL haha
  15. Right but I dont believe diesels have the issues with DI that gassers do. If you really wanted to avoid this issue bad enough that seems like the way to go.
  16. He could go Diesel, but yeah gas wise 5.0 in F150 is only one left in a ford truck I believe, cant remember if the V6 is. Chevy trucks are all DI. No idea what Chrysler is doing but dont know many who care haha.
  17. This was my thought process, but I have 40k miles when I got the truck so not BG warranty for me. Ill be using a chemical treatment of some kind right before my next oil change, probably the CRC stuff.
  18. I ordered the same one you did so should be good. I messaged Elite though to see their thoughts on this.
  19. Plasti dip front and rear bowties
  20. Which can did you go with from them?
  21. High country grille is in and a catch can on the way
  22. 315 dollars seems a little steep, seems most with any kind of catch can have decently clean valves.
  23. I bought the original I didnt see much difference besides size from the site unless I missed something, I dont need two exits. I figured Ill just unscrew it once or month or so cant fill up that fast I dont think. I drive around 10k miles a year.
  24. Ordered my elite can today, every time I drive it all I can think about is the valves getting bathed in oil haha. Looked up my wifes 4 cylinder equinox and looks like the dirty side of that is internal to the engine, nothing I can do for hers.
