  1. I have an interesting question...........has anyone tried an airbag suspension in the rear only? I don't mean helper bags, I mean the full meal deal. I ask because many of you who have gone very low in your static drops, can't really tow or haul. That's cool with me if that's what you like, but some of us want that option. A full bag system would allow you ride height adjustment on the fly would it not?
  2. Yes, it is a 4x4 Aluminum control arms Front = Belltech BEL 25004 Rear = RK2507-3 plus MS34044 Shock extenders
  3. 2015 RCSB Z71 4x4 here, and haven't had one issue at all with my 2-4 drop. However, I am thinking about dropping the front a little more and would like to learn more about doing an air bag system for the rea only, so I can run level when I want to, and lift it up when I want to trailer or carry heavy loads.
  4. Well, drop me a PM if you get motivated to sell
  5. Clay barring is like sanding your paint. Do it too often and you will ruin your paint. Professional detailer will tell you (if he's not trying to sell you a detail job) the only time you need to claybar is if you have alot of tar, sap, or other build up on your paint. It was actually invented to remove paint overspray....
  6. Can anyone comment on this? Is the ride quality on Bilsteins significantly better than the Beltech's? I am looking to soften the ride on mine, particularly the rear. I'm getting annoyed by the harshness on rippled roads, manhole covers etc. THANKS
  7. Your aluminum control arms limit your options like they did for me on my 2015 Z71, meaning no spindle options for you unless you are willing to go and buy some steel control arms (which isn't all that expensive actually). If you want to go down 5" in the rear you are definitely looking at flipping the rear + cutting/removing the rear bump stops. Depending on how much weight you haul/tow, you might be able to get away without having to cut off the rear bump stop brackets.
  8. Not sure I understand....you want to do a 3/5 but don't want to change springs or struts?
  9. First silver I have seen, I like it. Good choice going with black wheels.
  10. What purpose does the big bar on the front serve?
  11. Dayam that was a score, they don't even list a bedxtender for anything other than a RAM on their site. It would almost be worth it to buy one from Ottawa and ship it to Vancouver haha
  12. There is no such thing as 3" shackles. Shackles allow you 1" or 2" drop and removing the block give you another 1"
  13. It's called a 2/4 but it will actually measure 1.75" and 3.25" when he is done
  14. Is that lower piece chrome? It looks grey in the pic
  15. After de-badging my 2014 RCSB Z71, the red inserts on the GMC badge in the grill started to look odd, so I replaced them with Billet aluminum inserts.
  16. They said I needed more parts than just the head unit and sensor. Oh well, that was fun.
  17. Well, in the end the sensor didn't help. So if anyone is interested in a brand new HVAC control unit to dress up your truck, drop me a PM
  18. That red would look great de-badged. Not sure why.......it just strikes me that it needs it
  19. Yup, thats the same part # I bought online. My dealer is going to install and test it for me next Monday, so we will see how it works
  20. Have you read this thread? Thread #762 http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/155864-2014-lowering-drop-kits/page-51
  21. Everything works just like the standard head unit. Yes the A/C works What doesn't work is" Auto climate control (obviously because I don't have a sensor installed yet) Dual climate control (wasn't expecting this functionality anyways)
  22. If my truck was a couple years old, I would probably be fine (emotionally) with cutting it up. But with a brand new one...........yeesh, I just think "Hi Mr. Car Buyer. Yes, I had the truck lowered, and yes, I had to have the drive shaft shortened, which means if you are buying my truck to use off road, you are kind of screwed"
  23. Lots to learn in the 2014 Lowering thread here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/155864-2014-lowering-drop-kits/ I just lowered my 2015 RCSB Sierra Z71 4x4, after literally months of research. Truck was brand new off the lot, so I would think I am similar to you in your concern of "how low can I go?". My truck will probably never see mud, its a city truck, and the 4x4 feature to me was merely for winter traction. I originally decided a 3/5........but a few things swayed me away Good chance it would require shortening the drive shaft I didn't want to flip the rear I didn't want top cut anything on a brand new truck, and with a 3/5 you definitely need to cut (or remove) the rear bump stops, and maybe even need to grind off the bump stop brackets. I still wanted to retain ability to tow/haul stuff So I went mild, with a 2/4 And yes, as everyone will tell you, you will always want to go lower. My logic was, if I am going to go lower, I'll just bag the damn thing
  24. During my research, I learned that the Belltech 2509 spindles should only be used with steel control arms (which you have). I was not able to get a solid answer as to why they do not recommend it for a 4x4. Guess it depends how low you want to go in the front. If its just 2", then Belltech BEL25004 struts worked fine on my 2015 4x4. It actually measured 1.75" lower in the front (need to take in to consideration that lowering the back like I did pivots the nose of the truck upwards a little)
