Atlas, that's exactly what my motorhome buddy said; looks like we're riding the brakes all the way down. That's why I got curious about truck/trailer with exhaust brake. Being a Colo native, I drive big mtns quite and a bit and our truck exhaust brake will hold 13K trailer loaded on cruise control at 60 mph all the way. Topping two southern Colo mtns I had to bump the brakes a couple of times to maintain 60 or less as grade got up 8%. Typically DOT highway grades are max at 6%. Love that exhaust brake.
Apparently, some motorhome exhaust brakes also light up the brake lights. 2023 2500 HC pulling a 11,500 lb 5th wheel trailer and wondered if my camper brake lights are on when coming off the mountain using exhaust brake: I70 over the continental divide?
Not a big deal either way, just curious after talking to motorhome guy.
Thanks
While on key fob issue; I've been told while my 23 Silverado HD is parked in the garage it still talks to fob for updates etc and can/will run truck battery down. I ask because for first time ever after setting for 2 1/2 weeks my batteries were too low to start the truck. After, slow charged batteries and checked load and both batteries were still good and no issues since. To combat this I installed a trickle charger as truck won't be driven for over a month this time.
Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks
johnnyquick; spot on. We pull 5th wheel camper 4 months of the year- pacific NW/Idaho, CO mtns and NW AR and stay in RV parks. As far as keeping it at home; average price in my neighborhood is $1 mill + and one way in and out; so, no issues there since I built in 1992 when I built on our 2+ acres.
Thanks for great ideas.
Anybody have any reviews for faraday key fob pouches? Just read about another RVer that lost his new truck in a parking lot. I want one that is small and can easily be carried in pocket.
Anything new on this topic; just got back from pulling RV and now need to clean bugs out of radiator. Desperately need something for upcomg fall 5K mile trip pulling 5th wheel through the NE and down to Smithsonian.
2023 2500 High Country: are all the cameras & sensors in the bumper or are some in the grill? I need to install a bug screen over grill as most of my miles are pulling camper and lots of bugs and some potential damage to radiators. I've checked some sites: Weathertech doesn't make a grill bug "screen".
Any suggestions?

Selling my 70 gal fuel tank combo tool box that I used in my long bed; won't fit my new "std" bed. Near new condition-no dents or scratches= shiny alum diamond plate.
Google RDS model #73851 for details. Totally enclosed and lockable; gauge on tank, 8 gpm pump, hose & nozzle included and fits about 1" below bed rail. DOT approved gas, avgas & diesel. Love these tanks-my third; the combo is great.
Approx 40%+ below new= $1250
Located 27 NNW of Denver. We travel with 5th wheel quite a bit so might be able to deliver.
PM me for pics or more info.

Sorry, I didn't close this out. Dealer found the bed plug was not seated at plug; couldn't tell with a visual. Will do another practice tow after airbags are installed before first long trip (2000 miles) inMay.
2023 2500 High Country pulling a 2022 35' 5th wheel camper. Camper prepped for camera; meaning, a hole cut in back of camper with plug over it- remove plug, tap marker light wires and installed an Amazon $140 Chinese cheapo camera that has worked perfectly for last 3 RV trips (8K miles). We like the separate camera screen so we can glance at it any time to check ebikes on back or what's coming up behind us and keep truck screen for nav, radio and etc.
Traded 2016 long box Silverado for 2023 Silverado HC with 6 1/2' bed. Therefore, can't use near new RDS alum 70 gal fuel transfer tank (pump & nozzle complete)/combo tool box. This combo is totally concealed in locked lid. Also, B&W flip over ball/Companion 5th wheel were sidelined as new truck shorter bed and I need more space. Loved the hitch combo as I could remove two weight manageable pieces rather than one heavy unit when not towing. Taking up space in garage so both need to go. Located 27 NNW of Denver; but, traveling to AR late May and later in summer heading to Niagra Falls via I70 so delivery may be an option. Private message or respond to this for more info or pics.

My RDS alum 70 gal fuel tank/tool box combo won't fit my new 23 std bed HC; tank/box is 31" deep and my wheel well has 23" to front of bed. Anybody looking for a near new condition unit. Bought this model as it sits 1/2" under bed rail so from the side you can't see it. Completely contained, no outside hoses or caps. Located near Denver.

Mechanic friend brought his 7 pin test light: bumper all works, box nothing. He looked underneath and all appears plugged in and normal.
Dealer we bought from will inspect and resolve issue on the 20th.
Then road test to confirm all-camper camera, truck cameras, brakes and especially suspension. May/probably need to install air bags. Had airbags installed on last four trucks but this 2022 5th wheel is lighter and new trucks seem heavier. Short road trip before longer camping trips will tell.
Thanks for reply.
