  1. I assume your are running around in V4 - If so try M7..........
  2. On my 2007.5 the paint didn't just chip - it exploded in tiny little craters - it would happen on the sides and where-ever not just the hood. I went around touching them up at first too - then gave up and lived with it. Better things to worry about - but yes I blame it on water based paint. Best thing you could do is have a clear urethane applied over the whole truck when new right off the lot. Have not bothered to look for chips on the 2017 yet - heck I barely have bothered to wash it since the Seattle spring has been so wet - epic thunderstorm last night........ 1,222 miles on her when I parked this morning - probably a few chips by now........ Here's a close up of the 2007.5 hood from my for sale ad 10 years later. Yes there are chips all over - but that is to be expected - it's a truck - it got used daily......
  3. From the manual: Resetting the Power Folding Mirrors Reset the power folding mirrors if: . The mirrors are accidentally obstructed while folding. . They are accidentally manually folded/unfolded. . The mirrors will not stay in the unfolded position. . The mirrors vibrate at normal driving speeds. Manually fold both mirrors if they are out of sync. Fold and unfold the mirrors three times using the mirror controls to reset them to their normal position. A popping noise may be heard. This sound is normal
  4. On my 2017 - you can power fold the mirrors by pressing and holding the key fob un-lock button. And/or you can set it up for all four windows down at once. I have it set for just the windows - for hot days when approaching the locked rig...........
  5. See "Vehicle Personalization" in your manual......... Page 5-50 in the 2015 manual... page 168 in the 2016 manual (more like page 161 in 2017 manual)............... I also have the radio start-up set low.......... Enough noise at work and everyday life !
  6. The touch screen lets your lower it......... I always set to not honk at me when locking - and lower the volumn on chimes etc..........
  7. The NOCO group 24 battery box arrived today.... It slides down in there - but rides on the wiper fluid bottle at the top of the battery box. Pushes the battery box out of shape and no way will the battery box lid fit in there. Decided just to do what I was first thinking - and put the jumper cables there in the Craftsman nylon tool bag I have them in anyway.......... Guess I have a battery box for the tongue of my car trailer instead.....
  8. Will the Magnaflow 12909 fit with the flapper in place?
  9. Found a pic of a NOCO battery box in that location in another thread - ordered a group 24 - we will see if it fits soon......... http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/172717-anyone-know-what-this-area-is-under-the-hood/page-2?hl=battery box
  10. Try a quick drying rinse like rubbing alcohol - not a lot - but worth a try rather than have it torn apart and deal with possible squeaks and rattles from then on..........
  11. I can see why - those 20 year old GM bins are $60 plus on eBay......... Do you have a pictures showing that group 24 box fits? These tough bins / trays / boxes by Akro-Mils part # 33105 fit the space. Would be great for jumper cables, quarts of oil etc. The vertical slots are for dividers.......... Come in several colors..... http://stores.ebay.com/Zoro-Tools/_i.html?_nkw=33105+box
  12. Part number anyone? Part number anyone?
  13. X 2 - Banged my knees on a Prodigy for 10 years in my 2007.5 .......... Never again would I own a rig without a built in controller were it is up in a safer place for use. Same for back up camera..... makes hooking up sooooo much easier..........
  14. It sure works nice......... Hauled a little rock today..........
  15. Yes and seals tightly - -20F - All bets are off...........
  16. There are a lot of makes with a similar red - but get them next to yours and GM's is much deeper, darker and rich........ Like a fine red wine..........
  17. One week of ownership and filled it today when the low fuel warning popped up. The cap-less fill worked fine - it's like not knowing you are pumping gas. I do have it covered with this dust cap to keep things clean and dry: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WATER-DUST-GAS-CAP-COVER-2017-CHEVROLET-SILVERADO-GMC-SIERRA-CAPLESS-FUEL-FILL-/382009468868?hash=item58f189e7c4:g:Ag0AAOSwXYtYzzeq&vxp=mtr
  18. Must be some long haul drivers of 1500's out there somewhere......... There sure are for Duramax HD's.......... http://www.thedieselpage.com/duramax/750kduramaxc.htm They just made the 2 millionth Duramax.......... http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2017/mar/0324-duramax.html
  19. Well one week of ownership on my ordered rig and loving it - installed running boards yesterday........
  20. Stumbled onto a good buy on Tuff-Bar stainless steel steps aka nerf bars - and discovered they are actually re-branded Westin steps. They even ship from Westin - same brand stainless tube step I had on my 2007.5 and very good quality. Either eBay or Amazon seem to have the best prices. I bought these on eBay from JC Whitney on Tuesday, and they arrived today via Fed Ex. ($269.76 delivered). I liked this design because of the welded end caps - rather than just plastic plugs like most a made. These surfboards are 6" wide! Easier for the young and old to climb aboard..... And adds a little more bling....... Install took 30 mins a side - nice to work with new parts designed to fit well. Would make a good career. https://www.carid.com/tuff-bar/6-polished-stainless-steel-oval-straight-tube-step-bars-mpn-5-60273.html
  21. That was your 1,000th post - better spike the ball.......... Been running in M7 for the break-in period. At 300 miles now.........
  22. Pretty pimpin' - If you could post up that Amazon link it would be much appreciated......
  23. Anyone have the "Cargo box LED lighting" - are they worth while for the light? I see they got left off my build to order. Pulled up a You-Tube on installing them - crimany they come with a 8 foot pigtails. Maybe I shouldn't even bother with them at this point.... Even dealer installed if they really are just for looks......
  24. Here's mine on paper - well it's more than that now - ordered 1/24/17 - Built 2/11/17 - Have VIN - Waiting transport....... http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/196751-2017-max-trailering-built-to-order/
