  1. That is called a muffler swap.........
  2. Simple and effective solution: https://www.ebay.com/itm/382009468868?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649
  3. I think the 20+ computers on these rigs just have a brain fart at times. Just like your home PC needs a reboot on occasion. My 2017 has had a few quirks - chime going of every 30 seconds for no reason. Pulled over, turned it off and restarted. Never repeated since. Turn signal blinking but no noise. Same fix - pulled over - rebooted - never repeated since. On a 1,200 mile trip a couple weeks ago the temperature display stuck at 32 degrees thru multiple starts over a couple days while daytime temp was aver 60 degrees - finally reset....
  4. Used mine a couple of times is all on the 2007 - you had to trim the plastic facia to even get a good size strap thru them. Yarded an old Ford truck out side ways once that had sat for years and broke the brakes free. Another time to brake a truck as it rolled off a trailer with the wife steering - it no working brakes of it's own.......
  5. Well it ain't no Silverado - but here's my buddies' report on his Cobalt........... Yes a Cobalt nearing 300K..........
  6. Could you leave the front alone - and shackle the back to level it and not lose ride quality on mag ride?
  7. LOL - That would have saved a dragonfly from death last week - towing to the beach we hear this "TWANG!" at about 35mpg when we are almost there. We look up and a dragonfly is stuck head first on the OEM antennae - and stayed there all week and for the 125 mile trip home. Had to scrub him off. LOL
  8. Pretty sharp looking 6.2L Decals and Max Trailering decals: http://stores.ebay.com/GOOD-OL-BEARs-TRADING-POST/CHEVROLET-GMC-TRUCKS-/_i.html?_fsub=11&_sid=5931062&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
  9. Couple squares of self-stick Velcro would do the trick - and cheaply - without the possibility of a rare earth magnet doing damage to electronics........
  10. Seems like that could ruin the FOB's electronics........... I use one of these to separate everything from the ignition key - ever since owning a 2500 - although the krys dance around far less on the 1500's smooth ride........... And this gives me a way to leave it running and lock it to run into the Post Office to check the PO Box every morning etc.......
  11. Extang canvas arrived today via FedEx - easy install...............
  12. 2017's and on have no filler cap........... aka Capless fill..........
  13. Just a protective cover - does not block any vents...........
  14. Been missing all the muffler threads! Yea some things I have done myself I now hire done. Cement work - roofing - garage doors etc. But muffler work I have always had done - even just the Banks muffler delete tailpipe on the Duramax I bought, then had installed. Still loving the Flowmaster on my 6.2L.................
  15. Have this fuel fill cover on since first fill - keeps junk outta the trunk....... 2017 capless fill......... http://www.ebay.com/itm/WATER-DUST-GAS-CAP-COVER-2017-CHEVROLET-SILVERADO-GMC-SIERRA-CAPLESS-FUEL-FILL-/382009468868?vxp=mtr&hash=item58f189e7c4
  16. I do like it - not much road noise from it when open - good air flow by just cracking another window with it open.... One of those options you don't realize how much you will use it until you have it........ Like a back-up camera - talk about taking hooking up a trailer to a whole other level!
  17. Great quality tie-downs - use mine daily..... Leave bungy cords hooked from tie-down to tie-down for handy use. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-One-Single-GM-PUBX-Truck-Bed-Cargo-Tie-Down-Loop-GMC-Chevy-23146899-22854815-/391736035460?vxp=mtr&hash=item5b35498884
  18. Remembered I had 2 sets of these - bought them when I replaced speakers in the 2007.5 .......... Ground the bottom hooked one down to .45" to fit - added a mohawk velcro hair dew for added protection. Works perfect - tucked it under the spare changing tool kit for future use. BTW - Many of my lug nuts did cinch down a touch - so not a bad idea to check lug nut torque on your new truck's wheels........ https://www.crutchfield.com/S-qpLHay0XqCp/p_126CR6NGL/Bojo-Trim-Panel-Tools.html
  19. What's a good tool to remove this style center cap shown below? I popped them off with the OEM lug wrench wrapped in a rag. Must be something better - want to be able to pop them off damage free before any tire work - so the tire monkeys don't jack up the caps or wheels. I checked the lug nut torque - I know for aftermarket wheels they have you check them after 50 miles. And did have wheel lugs loosen up once on new wheels (2010 MINI Cooper). So figure why not check wheels on a new rig. Crimany 140 ft lbs same as my 2500HD Duramax was........
  20. Looks nice - yea even on a U-Haul towing is fun - my wife says I am happiest when towing....... Nothing wrong with a more-door these days - just more room for buddies...... This was a 350 mile tow across Washington state.......
  21. Well no reason for a flapper then.........
  22. I assume your are running around in V4 - If so try M7..........
  23. On my 2007.5 the paint didn't just chip - it exploded in tiny little craters - it would happen on the sides and where-ever not just the hood. I went around touching them up at first too - then gave up and lived with it. Better things to worry about - but yes I blame it on water based paint. Best thing you could do is have a clear urethane applied over the whole truck when new right off the lot. Have not bothered to look for chips on the 2017 yet - heck I barely have bothered to wash it since the Seattle spring has been so wet - epic thunderstorm last night........ 1,222 miles on her when I parked this morning - probably a few chips by now........ Here's a close up of the 2007.5 hood from my for sale ad 10 years later. Yes there are chips all over - but that is to be expected - it's a truck - it got used daily......
  24. From the manual: Resetting the Power Folding Mirrors Reset the power folding mirrors if: . The mirrors are accidentally obstructed while folding. . They are accidentally manually folded/unfolded. . The mirrors will not stay in the unfolded position. . The mirrors vibrate at normal driving speeds. Manually fold both mirrors if they are out of sync. Fold and unfold the mirrors three times using the mirror controls to reset them to their normal position. A popping noise may be heard. This sound is normal
