  1. Never heard of having GM pay for it. The shop where I took my truck to the first time couldn't connect and right away told me it could be a very expensive fix. Something about probably a pinched wire harness or something. I knew what was wrong (based on previous experience with my '04) and proved to him it was just a blown fuse. That was after he advised me I didn't know what I was talking about. I don't know if he was blowing smoke or not about the repair. However, I do know that electronics can be very pricy. 2. I like it the way it is now. I agree all that chrome looks odd. If the truck was red I could say paint it red but the truck is gray. I think the chrome looks fine. I don't know how well a red white and blue emblem could be seen from distance. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Sounds good. Just be careful though. I know I stripped one. Don't know if it's a manufacturer defect or what that caused it but I'm just happy it hasn't decided to leak. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  4. I agree.. I'd double-check that. It seems high. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  5. For that price I might as well sell my Jeep and buy a used 3/4 ton truck. Single income family and we homeschool so probably not in the cards right now. Wish I never would've seen this thing. It's still got warranty.. I'm thankful for that I guess. Thanks guys. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  6. Any idea what that would run? Anyone here done it? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  7. I didn't realize that it was a different series of motor. The HP numbers look pretty much the same so I guess I assumed it was the same platform. All of the Escalades were AFM that year and from what I understand most of the Denali's too. Seems to run well but getting a little clack every once in a while at startup. Doesn't last long and it always goes away after you rev lightly a bit. Sorry.. I didn't mean to hijack the thread. I'm interested in a tune but probably don't understand how it could help.. I'd also need to make a pretty compelling business case to the financial manager (my wife) that it would resolve the issues. [emoji1] Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  8. 1) Not a troll.2) It's a 2010 so it has the 6 speed. 3) I treat my vehicles well. It has 110k on it now.. all fluids changed when they should be. 4) Venture into the other forums and you'll see a chorus of the same complaints when towing. 5) Don't be like that. If anything I baby the thing when towing.. I have to. If you'd like to help me figure out what's wrong I'm all ears. I'd love to be proven wrong. Don't say the 8-speed solved the overheating issue.. I saw someone the other day with a brand new Esky that had the same issue. I told him to install the Tru-cool 40k like I did. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  9. If I pushed it I could easily overheat it pulling a 7000 lb trailer.. yes, that's fully loaded. as it is now I can barely do 50 up any incline. 64 is about as fast as I can go on the flats. If I go faster than that I watch the temp gauge climb. I've replaced 2 sets of shocks and oh yeah the transmission too. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  10. I'm not impressed. Supposedly a 7800lb towing capacity with that vehicle. There is absolutely no reason why someone shouldn't be able to run right up to that without issues. If I was going over then well maybe I could see it. I'll be going to a 3/4 ton truck (more than likely something that starts with an F) at some point but this vehicle has been a big disappointment for me. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  11. I have the 6.2 in my Escalade. Wish I had a 6.0. The thing gets too hot when towing. My old Denali was a beast. This thing.. not so much. Plenty of power (if you're not towing) but I'm pretty sure it's no where near the engine the 6.0 was. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  12. If you've got a decent backup (meaning family member, spouse, etc) with a good vehicle I might continue to make it work as long as it's not dangerous to drive. Bottom line is it's not going to be worth much as it is now. If you wait 6 months and it's still running well you'll not be out much and maybe in a better position to purchase. I got $3800 for my '04 Denali XL w/200k at a stealership last year.. it was running perfect and didn't burn any oil. I bought a '10 Escalade ESV (@26k) and am still kicking myself for that decision. I really wish now I would've waited. The 6.0 is a solid motor. We needed something that I knew we wouldn't have issues with as we travel 2x per year back up north (4000 miles round-trip). The 6.2 is spunky but I've had a few issues with the new vehicle too. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  13. What's the vehicle used for? Do you and your family go on long trips or is this just for local trips? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  14. Didn't know "those people" existed! LOL ( just giving you a hard time). Sometimes, I think my life would be simpler without it. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
